Has anyone tried using lemon juice instead, I can stand to think that the smell of vinegar will stay with me all day, maybe my ratio is of. I used half Acv half water. Any one tried lemon

There's no reason why you can't substitute lemon for acv sometimes but just keep in mind that lemon is going to lighten your hair over time. Vinegar smell shouldn't stay with you all day. If it does you used too much. You only need about 1 or 2 tablespoons per about 32 oz of water. Put that in a gallon or a big bottle and pour it over your head for a final rinse. It's okay if you want to rinse one more time with plain water. The smell should evaporate in a few minutes as your hair dries.

Your concentration @HighAspirations is way off. :nono: I'm surprised you haven't damaged your hair with that. Too acidic a solution can damage the keratin in your hair. My ratio is about 1:128 (1/4 cup ACV in 2 gallons water).

I know lemon juice is good for greasy hair. I suspect it might be drying if your hair isn't greasy, but I don't know.

Thanks, I've only being using it once a week for about a month so that's probably how my hair has held up, but I will definitely lighten my ratio by. ..A LOT
