My hair is currently in twists and was wondering with what sorts of products could I moisterize my hair with? Any ideas?

Also, with my hair in twists, does this mean that my hair will not be effectively moisterized since some of my hair is twisted around other hairs and will not be directly exposed to whichever product I put in my hair? The same questions applies to the ends - since my ends are not fully exposed, must I untwist the ends to properly moisturize them?

Thanks and looking forward to replies!

Oops, the title should read "moisterizer" instead of leave-in conditioner (or could they be interchangeable??)....but ideas for leave-ins are welcome as well...

I think it's really important to make sure you hair is properly moisturized BEFORE putting in the twists. When I was natural I twisted with lots of shea butter. They stayed soft and moisturized until I took them out. I never had to add anything while they were in. (I didn't add hair either which makes a difference because it further dries your hair out). A good braid spray should work.

ITA! Same thing here.

I love Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Cream (in Sultry Sandalwood) https://www.karensbodybeautiful.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=1002 as a daily moisturizer for my twists. I also sometimes add her hair oil (same scent) http://www.karensbodybeautiful.com/product_p/1003.htm if i want more of a sheen, but still some moisture. When I use either, I just put some in the palm of my hands and run my hair down several of the twists at a time. I personally don't untwist to moisturize.

I have been transitioning for 14 months and I have just edged out with more new growth than relaxed ends. I notice my hair is behaving differently. I wear a twist or braid out pretty much daily and I just bought Karen's body Beautiful hair products and I LOVE THEM ON MY TWISTS and BRAIDS!

I have thick 4a-ish hair. When my hair is wet, I use her Hair Nectar all over and then her Super Silky to twist.

I believe some naturals use the Oyin Juices and Berries to moisturize their twists. Or you could just make your own spray. A lot of naturals do that.
