I heard it's being discontinued from a member of Black Hair Media Forum. Has anyone else heard this?:yawn:

First it was Cream of Nature Shampoo, then Pantene Relaxed and Natural Mask Conditioner. What else is next?

All these are good, inexpensive, and effective products. I can't keep stocking up on this items, because I have too much stuff! :wallbash: My hair will have to be washed more often just to keep this stuff from going bad. :wallbash:

Lekair has been around forever. I can't really imagine them discontinuing it outta nowhere. But I'm sure stranger things have happened....

Oh well it's only like $1 and some change anyway and is in a pretty damn big jar. Just stock up on about $20 of them if you really use it like that and call it a day.
 
It's when I hear things like this that my desire to transition to using all natural organic hair products is fortified. I can't keep dealing with the best inexpensive products for our hair always discontinuing everytime I turn around. This is not good:nono:.
 
oh man - this and my beloved ors replenishing are the two reasons i have any hair left on my head even in my ignorance! i really hope this is not true! i agree with you aggie - i am really getting more interested in mixing up my own stuff and adding what i need as i go. i dont want to be depending on companies like this.
 
They stopped selling it at my local Sally and regular BSS stores at least a year ago. They said it would be discontinued but I'm *sometimes* able to find it at Walmart in small quantities for less that $2/container. :sad: This might be true ladies... I going to buy all the containers on the shelf next time I see it.
 
I like the liquid bottle formula better because it absorbs and penetrates my hair better and last longer than the jar kind.
I have also noticed the newer BSS have not restocked it,this is so sad.:wallbash:
There is plenty in my old BSS so I dont have to panic just yet.
 
I was JUST saying to myself last night as I was detangling my hair in the shower, "Man...I'm SO glad I have my Lekair cholesterol! I've tried to detangle with other conditioners, but I always come back to this one. It gives me all the slip I need and is cheap, cheap, cheap :yep:...I don't know WHAT I'd do without it :spinning:"

This is like a nightmare come true :blush::lachen: lol...no but seriously, PLEASE tell me this isn't true! :nono:

For those of you who use it detangle, do you know what product you plan to use as a replacement?? Doesn't Queen Helen make a cholesterol product that's similar...???

I love Le Kair Cholesterol. This is what I use to pre-poo! It's cheap and effective on my hair!
This is the one product in my hair stuff arsenal that I've been rotating for well over 10 years!!
 
Guys it is NOT being discontinued!​

My Sister just spoke with Henrietta from the LeKair manufacturer (OLD97 Company based in Tampa, FL) and she said that it is NOT being discontinued.

She said that that single product is the #1 selling product from their manufacturer! And as a matter of fact, she was shipping out multiple orders of the 5lb container as they spoke!

Just wanted to let you ladies know.
 
Thank God!! Cuz it was about to be mass hesteria. :lachen: I just started using it again (don't know why I ever stopped) and used it last night for my DC. My hair LOVES it (as does my wallet), it just eats it up. Thanks for getting us the facts Te'TahHead!
 
I hope its really not going to be discontinued cuz ive been using this forever it detangles my hair so well but im gonna buy 3 bottles sometime this week just in case

Thank the Lord! I read the thread over on BHM and it seemed like it was just the vendor that wasn't carrying it anymore.

whew!!!!! I was about to panic!!
 
There are two conditioners called "Hare Kare" with different formulas, but they have the same ingredients as Le Kair has except one. I found these at one of those off brand 99 cent stores on King and Vermont in the same shopping center of C & J Beauty Supply Store in Los Angeles. It works good, too, but I'm glad Le Kair is not being discontinued with every store.

I'm wondering which store in Los Angeles sells the 5 pound tub?

good thing i read this now, cuz i was about to go to the bss' today and buy them out of those 5lb tubs!! i was hoping i was not too late!
 
This is my favorite cheapie! Some BSS and SALLY's may stop selling it in favor of better selling other cheapies , ie. Silk Elements, etc. Saying something is discontinued is just because they don't want to say "We'd prefer that you buy OUR cheapie brand."

Yeah, that's what happened with the Pantene Breakage Defense Mask when CVS stopped carrying it. They led people to believe it was being discontinued. They have an in-house Ellin Lavar Textures Mask they wanted people to buy instead for 5 oz for between $8-5 depending on if its on sale. :ohwell:
