Layers vs Length?

I've noticed that though we are all working hard to achieve a desired length or level of hair health, alot of members would like their hair all one length. What's the reason for the one length choice. I personally love loong layers! I like the movement and shape that layers give.

I always think one length looks healthiest, that's why I like it. Plus, I've been layered before, and the grow-out is drama. Also, I get my movement from my hair being light and having body, even without layers. I do think layers are pretty on others, though

Layers made my hair look thinner and made my ponytail and buns look skinny. One length just looks healthier to me. Plus, layers are a pain to grow out and I have enough trouble already. I like them on other's though.

Long layers are nice. But thick, healthy, even hair is so nice to look at. When I see a women with one lenght nice hair, I notice that. I like long layers in the back because it does give the illusion of volume, but then it becomes problematic and scraggly looking...

I think one hair length looks better in a ponytail too, but my hair grows in layers. Right now all my hair is ~7 inches long. So although everything is one length I have the layered look. I'm hoping that I can get the front of my hair to grow to ~14 inches. Then I think I will have the appearance of one length.

My hair grows in layers too so I don't have a need to actually cut them like that. But I personally like both, they offer two different looks which I like.

The front of my hair (the area where bangs are) is always shorter than the back. It looks like I layered a lil' bit of the front but thats how it grows. I know its not damaged or anything because I cut all my hair even before and get the same results. I love one length hair depending on if the person has really thick hair or not. On thick hair, all one length can look cousin IT like. But on meduim or thin hair it looks great.

I don't mind layers (okay I do) but more than anything, I want to have the shortest length of my hair be a certain length. I can't say that I've achieved my goal length if 10% of my hair is bra strap and the rest is shorter.

I love layers too. I love the stylish look of the. IMO, one length hair is kinda boring. I want longer hair, but I want stylist healthy hair too. I don't want to just wear my hair in a bun all the time or combed straight down or back.

I think layers look awesome on people with really thick hair. I considered layers for myself with my relaxed ends but it's too thin...and the layers would make it thinner. However, with my natural hair, I am considering my first cut to be layers. I have to grow out my hair anyway so I may as well get layers and see what they are like.

If someone has thick hair and layers, I think a ponytail looks awesome.

My hair is very thick, but I definitely like it all one length because it looks nicer and healthier to me. I've heard so many people say layers are a pain to grow out. Layers look nice on some people, but I just don't want them myself. THIS IS JUST MY TWO CENTS!

My hair grows in layers and I love it. It gives really nice body and style. I agree that a ponytail looks lacking, but I always wear my hair down so that doesn't really matter to me!

my layers are so annoying. they only look good when my hair is pressed ultra straight. otherwise they aren't all that noticable. but it drives me crazy that the front of my hair is barely chin length because i feel like i have a mullet!

I already have very fine hair and I had no choice but to get my hair cut in layers, due to breakage from coloring, and my sometimes looks very thin and I can no longer wear a decent ponytail. I think my hair looks best when it is all one length and I have no idea of how I'm going to achieve it without going nuts.
My layers look great when my stylist does my hair but looks horrible when I do it myself.

Hiza, I love your hair. It looks all one length to me. How long is your shortest layer?

KG, I checked out your album and girl you know you can work a weave!

but what's that half& half thing you were talking about? Is that some kind of weaving process?

I love layers too. I don't like he straight down look. To me that is no style. The layers give me style and makes my hair look more full. as well as I don't look like a kid. My goal is to grow my hair long and as soon as I reach my goal it will be cut in layers. But the layers will be long.

I'm in the same boat you are. All around, my hair is about the same length in inches but appears to be in layers. Once the front of my hair gets to my shoulders, I might cut off the length in the back to give the appearance of the same length.

*(Im)patiently waiting for the front of my hair to grow so that it will be shoulder length like the back of my hair.
