Layering your deep conditioner with oil?

Is this a good idea? I am about to deep condition and wondered about applying my deep conditioner and then layering it with hemp seed oil before getting under the steamer for 45 min. I know oil is meant to seal moisture into your hair and was wondering if I could possibly be messing up the effects of my deep conditioner.

That's the only way I've ever deep conditioned. I generally use hot six oil as a catch all. My results are always great. I can see a difference between using oil and just conditioner alone.

I used jbco with my curl junkie curl rehab dc, it made it better. Alone it barely did anything

I've been oiling my scalp while I DC. I apply the DC first and I have my oil in a nozzle bottle. Really has been keeping my scalp from getting dry throughout the week.

I have been using a layer KerVada's alto ego oil or Annabell ayuvedic oil under my DC. For a while I was doing a separate hot oil treatment, and then adding the conditioner on top , when it finally occurred to me that I could just layer them from the beginning.

I do it from time to time when my hair is ESPECIALLY dry – usually happens when I travel to another country. I kind of stopped because it's difficult to figure out how much oil to use without greasy results. I definitely want to start this again since I have a steamer though.
