Gurl, I am so hating on you right about now. Yo hair is off da hook!!. I've been checking it out over in the OT forum on the Condi get a man thread, I actually could care less about that mess but your hair keep drawing me to that thread. Do tell what is yo secret. Us short haired sistas wanna know. Just beautiful.

Very beautiful hair! Lauren, how is the nape coming along? I'm trying to get mine to look half as good as yours.

OMG, I was like, what did I do now? :-)

Thank you so much for the compliments! I don't really have a tight regimen or anything, but I co wash once per week with Suave Milk and Honey or Dove Super Moisturizing conditioner. Every 2-3 weeks, I deep condition with a honey and conditioner mix.

I generally use Mane and Tail Super Moisturizing conditioner as a leave-in during the week, as well as m Aveda Oil. In the first 6-7 weeks, I rollerset after every wash, and in the last 3-4 weeks before the relaxer, I either airdry/flatiron or do braidouts.

I think the moisture has been the key for my hair. The water from the cowashes, the conditioners, and rollersetting have helped my hair retain moisture like it never has before, and now I have shine and body. Also, stretching, which I never did before, has helped tremendously. I now go 11-12 weeks, and I can also see it thickening up.

I owe it all to this board!

Mslady, the nape is growing a little. I should have more pics in the album in the next week or so. I've been keeping it moisturized and massaging the area a lot. I can see it working, but it's slow-going.

Thank you ladies!

For my nape, I've been moisturizing it every day with either water or S-curl. I started out twisting it into a bantu knot and pinning it, but I just wear it down with the rest of my hair now. I massage the area every day, and I don't plan to relax it next time. Other than that, I'm just leaving it alone.

Wow very thick and dark I just love dark hair. I need to jump back on the Mane and Tail wagon again fell off.

Thank you so much ladies! The funny thing is, I didn't even think I had made much progress until I saw that picture. I was like Wow! It's working! Now if I can just get to brastrap...:)

LOL! Thank you for the compliment. I use Vitale Life and Body Lye (inspired by Southerngirl), and I use Mane and Tail Deep Moisturizing conditioner or deep conditioning and as a leave-in. I cowash with Suave or Dove, and most of the time I rollerset.

Beautiful hair Lauren and what a pretty girl you are. Your daughter is also adorable. Love the picture of the 2 of u!

Do you self-relax or do you have professional stylist relax you? If you do self-relax, how long have u been relaxing you own hair?

Thank you! I self relax now (Vitale Life and Body Lye), but I was having it done by a stylist for the last 3 years or so. Before that, I self relaxed (no lye) for years. I've only self relaxed with the lye once, and I did it in 3 sections to make sure I did it right. It came out pretty good. It only got about 90% straight, but I think I want it that way from here on out.
