When you comb your hair straight and spread it apart, does it look thinner at the ends? and when its together in a V-shape look thick again?

Or is this just my hair needing another trim?

yep, my hair looks thinner when i spread it out. i hate how my hair grows in a stupid v-shape!

Thanks for your reply Keisha, You just saved me from another trim. :)

Its funny b/c even though we HATE our v-shapes..I know people that CUT their blunt hair into a V-shape!! I couldn’t believe it.

Mine does the same Foxy. I HATE IT. It never has what I call that "dreemsold" look (that pic in her album of her hair with a fresh trim from sometime last year?) . No matter how healthy my ends are. :(

I cut mine in October, and it's back. I'm not cutting it again. My hair looks thin at that area if I spread it out, but nice and full when I leave it as is. I guess my v is here to stay.

Funny that you posted this because I noticed the same thing this morning. I had planned to get a trim this weekend, but now I'm just gonna keep lovin' my v-shape. Thanks ladies!

Thanks for your responses ladies :)

DJD, I can’t even lie your V-shape is cute! I just can’t stand it on my own head. Did you mean thick? Or thin?

Tracy, you too?? I never noticed that your hair had a V…Your hair looks pretty even to me. Lawd knows how I envy/love dreemsold’s and Southerngirls “look”. Its so blunt and thick  I don’t think my hair will ever be blunt either. Even when I cut it my V comes back.

Skegeesmb your hair is BLUNT! Whatcha talking about? (look at me trynna tell YOU how YOUR hair is  )

Tracy W, it looks like our hair is a normal V-shape. I am not cutting mine either…

Yeah - in my older pics from last year this time when I was just about at brastrap you can clearly see it. And it's looks more like a W sometimes which is even worse.... :ohwell:

I have to take a better picture. Now it's clearly growing in that V-shape. My husband has been being difficult. When I try to take the pictures myself the angle I can get a shot kills the v-shape.

My hair naturally falls in a V as well. I have decided that as long I don't have any split ends I'm not cutting it anymore. I try not to wear it as straight, I'm trying to go without pressing it for a while and only using the blowdryer to get it straight. I don't think my hair will ever be completely even, I am ok with that because at least it is healthy and I have reached my goal length.

I got the "V" shape going on too. I had my mom trim my hair into the blunt cut that I love on Southerngirl. I had to sacrifice a little length to get it and sure enough when I took my next pics in Dec it was back. I quit. I'm just gonna keep it.

I have a V shape too and I just accept that it just grows that way. Once I reach my goal I'll just maintain it in that shape.

Mine looks a hot mess when I have a V and spread it apart. I think it is because my hair is fine. My hair looks best with a blunt straight across look.

When I first read the tag line I thought you meant v-shaped as in shorter in front and sides than in back. My hair seems to grow so slowly everywhere but the back. I have tried really, really hard not to cut it blunt all over (which would result in a very short bob) just to take off the damaged parts and even the stupid hair out. But I've done this before and months later I'm at a vee again...sigh...
Anyone else have this problem? Any Suggestions?

So it’s official then…. Cut it and it WILL come back!

OH no Tracy a W?

CBG, looks like a hot mess when spread out too.. I was starting to get alarmed!

Its good to see that alot of my hair idol’s have V-shapes so I guess its okay after all.

I am sorry DJD, I called you DSD instead of DJD.. Thanks for the compliment! Your hair looks great also!!

Aileendq, That could be the reason why your hair is V-shaped…That’s the reason why my hair is v-shape. All of us on this thread have the same problem, we cut it and then it comes back. I am not sure why. Maybe our growth rate in the back is quicker. Or maybe it’s our layers. My suggestion? If it’s not damaged, leave it alone. You will be cutting healthy hair unnecessary (been there, done that, got a t-shirt)

Thanks for the responses ladies..I feel much better.

I think that some people are going to have v-shapes, regardless to what the do, because a particular section of the hair may grow faster.

I've never had a v-shap myself, but I did have a layered cut that eventually grew out into Jennifer Anniston's long shag. In order to get rid of the "v" I kept getting small trims until everything was even in the back.

I always get a V shape, too.

I too was getting the "v" shape. I think it looks good on you ladies. I, uh, cut mine off on sunday... :look:

OT: Ms K, i was just looking at your avatar your hair is growing so fast!

Oh yeah you were killing IT that wig too (looked very natural)! What happened to it?

I have a V too and it does look thin but I'm not cutting it. I wear slight layers and I think it gives my hair a little personality :D

Thanks!

I still have the wig, but I get tired of stuff so quickly and I really like wearing my own hair. So, I'll pull it out on lazy days or for fun when I'm going out. :)

I don't kwnow about all the V shapes and stuff, but Foxy I just seen your album and your hair is bang bang bang .....bangin !!! I just had to say that!!

Thank you so much for this thread. I was tempted to grab some scissors too. I cut my hair in september and it is starting to form a "V" shape (which I don't mind). When it's together in the "V" it definitely looks thicker than when spread out. Glad to know that I'm not alone.
