Ladies with TWAs, Do you do twistouts?

I've tried, but my skills suck. I use Oyins burnt sugar pomade. My twists look great, but my twist outs :nono:. Oyin has made twisting my hair much easier. It helps me smooth the hair out so I can grip it better to twist.

When I was a TWA it was difficult for me to twist and ensure that the ends remained twisted. I found a youtube video that solved that for me by suggesting you wrap your twist around the plastic portion of a sponge roller(removing the sponge). I did this until my hair was long enough to no longer need it and it worked wonders! I also twisted around 40-50 twists when it was a TWA, the smaller the more likely they were to not unravel.

I was still lurking the board then so unfortunately I don't have any pics.

I wish i could post a pic of my friend's TWA twistout i did for her a few weeks ago-turned out super cute. i used her Shea Moisture moisturizer, and some foam wrap for hold.

I guess we don't have a lot of TWA twistout wearers.

I've seen some cute ones on YT and pictures of some ladies on naturalsunshine.ning.com.

I did one last month and it was not cute. I guess I'll keep trying or wait until my hair is longer. But I'm so tired of this wash and go...

My #1 Rule: Do not let length hinder you in doing anything you want to do with your hair.

^^^^ Very pretty. Thanks so much for the pics. My hair is only 4 months post BC (I had less than two inches of hair when I BC'd)

At any rate, I'm hoping for the look of your hair only shorter.

Oh trust and believe in the first picture (another angle):

my hair was about 3-4 inches.

lol. It really just looks longer than what it is.

Also the next to the last picture is me at 4-5 inches or so.

My TWA is less than an inch when not stretched and my whole length is about 2 1/2. Its sooo discouraging and I am going through that ugly stage. I can't find anything to do with it and i am starting to get fed up. Im not usually one to cry over spilled milk but geesh. If I can just get a few more inches or a little hang time I would be able to do something with it.

Yay! More pics. Thanks KCcurly, your hair is so cute.

And ms-gg your hair does look longer. Maybe its the density. You got A LOT of hair.

Omg! I'm currently wearing my first set of flat-twist and I will be doing a twist out tomorrow morning. I'm hoping and praying that it comes out cute because I'm sick of wash and goes. :yep: I'll post pics in the morning of my 3-4inch flat twist out.

Believe me, I feel you.
