Ladies, will I lose my texture if I blow dry on low?

TRANSITION OVER! 11-22-14
I have very thick, dense natural hair. I was thinking about using a blow dryer on low heat before doing my twists. I hope it does not ruin my texture. Ideally, I'd like to have twists that don't look like they're locks. I want to be able to wear the twists for a style for at least a week or two before washing and conditioning my hair. I will share the results of my experiment tomorrow. Any advice will be appreciated. It takes me an hour and a half to do my hair. I hope this will cut down on some time and yield better results.

Hey girl! To answer your question, you shouldn't. I do that a lot and even though I'm lightly texlaxed, my curls ALWAYS COME BACK

I think it would depend on the frequency. I think if you didn't use it frequently, you won't experience any loosening. If I do blow dry my hair it's on low or cool and not more than once a month.

You have a twa, why don't you try banding? I also do this to stretch out my hair and then there's no risk of your curls loosening. You can also stretch your hair by braiding your hair in sections and then combing them out the next day. Have you tried either of these methods?

Banding didn't work and I can't braid. I was hoping every 2 weeks won't hurt my hair. At this point in time, I'm starting to not care. It takes me so long to try to twist my hair. Wash n gos make my hair curl up on each other and I get detangling sessions that hurt.:ohwell: That's why I'm trying this experiment with low heat.

of course you won't. i blowdry on high all the time and my texture is fine. just deep condition and use a lil heat protectant and you'll be fine.
