If I felt I really needed it, If I could go with out it, I would take the money and save it toward a steamer. So decide how much it would help in between now and getting the steamer.

Thank MrsJones I will do just that. And I'm a MrsJones also.:lachen:

I have a heat cap, so yes I would buy it. There's even a way for you to use your heat cap like a steamer. Here's how:

1. Apply DC or pre-poo of your choice to your hair and clip it up.
2. Take a medium sized towel or hair turban and soak it in very warm distilled or purified water.
3. Wrap it around your head and apply a plastic bag or hair cap over it.
4. Lastly apply your heating cap.

The heat from the heating cap will cause the water in the towel to steam, creating a home made steamer for less. This should help until you can afford to get a real steamer.

P.S. Here's a thread that explains the process better http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=215663&highlight=steaming+using+heat+cap

This is what I do with a soft bonet dryer and the results are amazing. I'm still saving up for a steamer in the future but till then this method is perfect.
