No amount of shampoo is going to get the relaxer out if the stylist doesn't actually rinse long enough. Before putting the neutralizing shampoo on the hair, you're supposed to rinse your hair for at least 5 minutes. The neutralizing shampoo is really a backup to the water itself. I read that somewhere on the web; I can't remember whether it was an excerpt from a cosmo school books or a relaxer manufacturer's website. But I distinctly remember reading that rinsing for at least 5 minutes prior to the neutralizing shampoo stops the relaxer from processing. If the hair is rinsed like it should be, the neutralizing shampoo should be white on the first shampoo.

Rinsing is key here; not the shampoo that you use.
