My daughter is currently transitioning, why she was ever relaxed is a whole other story :ohwell:

So anyway its been about 13 months since the disaster relaxer and I have no idea what to do with her hair. We're having major problems. I was braiding it last night and noticed some breakage.

Her relaxed ends are in bad shape, I just wanna chop but she's just 11 and I think she'd be a bit devastated. However I was thinking of chopping and braiding and twisting her up.

I have no idea what to do. I have never had this type of problem when I was relaxed so its all new to me.

What have you done to over come breakage? All advice welcomed whether you're relaxed, transitioning or natural

Is it breaking at the decremation(?) line or is the relaxed hair breaking? Is it breaking in certain areas like the nape or edges?

I didn't even notice where, I just saw little broken pieces of hair. Hmm, I'll check into that and see

you should start trimming once a month so there's less relaxed hair to deal with, and make sure her hair is constantly moisturized especially the ends which dry out the quickest

since she's young braids would probably look great on her, and you can play with a lot of cute styles

goodluck!

Yes, I would do a protein treatment, trim the ends a little at a time, keep them moisturized and keep her
hair braided.
