Ladies how do you maintain natural styles when washing

I'm currently wearing my hair in twists with baggie method, for my protective style. For those of you who wear protective styles braiding, twists for longer periods 2-8 weeks at a time etc. how do you wash over the style without causing the hair to become fuzzy or even unravel. I was thinking of purchasing a stocking cap, to shampoo/conditioner wash over it without having to redo the style,as my aim is to lessen manipulation. Your opinion are welcome. thanks

Maybe you could wash it with some kind of rollers. The rollers might keep the hair from frizzing. I've never tried it but it's been recommended to me before.

I think it was Valerie who suggested the stocking routine. But for myself I used the technique reccommended by Robin Wood. Dilute the shampoo, use a baby sponge to apply and then rinse off either under the shower or bowls of water. HTH. Conditon in similar way HTH.

I've just performed a conditioner wash on my twists using a pair of old tights, i saturated my cap with shower water, then applied vo5 Pina colada..followed by pantene r and n, without ruffling up my twists. it worked out really well, next time i'll i place a tight hair band around the ends of my twists to prevent them from unravelling as my hair is super curly. thanks ladies
