I just started taking L-Cysteine yesterday. I have been researching dosages here and online but the amount is unclear. Some sites say 500mg with 1500mgs of Vitamin C and others say 500mgs 2x per day.

Ladies, how much L-Cysteine and Vitamin C do you take for hair growth?

Thanks in advance for your help

Your vitamin C should be double the amount of the NAC or L-Cysteine you are taking.

I just threw out my empty bottle of NAC yesterday, been taking them religiously for the past few months. I'm not re-upping. Gonna see how the combination of MSM powder, NB's Extra Strength HSN, and B-Complex does me for a while. I get my daily vitamin C from juice and fruit.

@Ms. Tiki I was taking a 600mg pill daily.

I've been buying one bottle every year since 2007. I'll take the one bottle consistently until it's done and then I don't buy it again for a long while. When I first started taking them I was good at taking a Vit C pill that would double the amount. This time around I didn't bother and just ate fruit and juices rich in vitamin C daily.

@brownsugarbaby I wish I could give an honest assessment on NAC particularly but I really can't because I was always taking/doing other things to try to maximize my hair growth potential. All I can say is it didn't hurt.

I take NAC too. I started out with L-cysteine and then changed over to the more stable NAC, 1200 mg a day. You should take as much vit C as cysteine. I have no info on growth since I've been taking it off and on since the beginning of last year...along with a bunch of other things. :yep:

Thanks NJoy. I think I will go ahead and up mine to 1000mg and see how that works out for me. I take 2000mg of Vitamin C everyday anyway to go with my MSM and otherwise protect me from my little germs (oops...I mean my children)
