I know that there are a lot of natural supplements out there that either stimulate hair growth, help maintain healthy hair, or help preserve hair color and luster, but there are probably so many that we can't all think of them at once. But I thought if we all "pool" our knowledge of different vitamins, herbs, and supplements together we'd have a pretty good list of things. Here are some that I know of:

Biotin-Hair growth
Garlic-prevents shedding
Nettles-Hair growth
Horsetail-Hair growth (?)
Saw Palmetto-Hair retention/Baldness Prevention
Caffeine (Teas/Coffee)-Stimulates Hair Growth

I thought of some more:

Marshmallow root & Okra:Both are heavy in mucilage and therefore give hair softness and slip.

Henna: Natural hair colorant/conditioner/strengthener.

Shikakai: Hair nutrifier

Brahmi: Gives follicles nutrients/natural hair darkener

Indigo: Natural way to achieve black hair

Vinegar and lemon juice (mild acids)- gives hair shine/helps clarify hair/Natural water softeners/ improves hair's condition.

L-Cysteine - a sulfur derived amino acid.

L-Cysteine and Hair Loss

L-Cysteine is an amino acid that is belived to improve the quality, texture, and growth of hair. This also helps prevent hair loss by reducing the amount of hair that is falling out.

Personally, I've found:
Garlic: stops or prevents excess shedding
MSM=hair growth
Biotin= hair growth
Spirulina= mega hair growth!

The combo of the latter 3 made me grow 1 inch in 5 weeks!

MSM- growth. some ladies even report it changed their texture. Im skeptical of this.
Silica- strength and growth
Biotin- growth
& Horsetail.- growth
