Kitchen-tician's Transitioning...

Adding my congrats. I never even heard of transitioning when I went natural all those years ago. If I were going newly natural, I might have transitioned all of my length as well. Cause short hair is truly ADDICTIVE! Why do ya think I'm here?? LOL!!

You're smart not to be so rigid with yourself and allow for possible mind changes. I for one, don't think you will though. . .
Enjoy!

I totally agree with everyone else. You always take great care of your hair so it will look great no matter what.

I KNEW you could not resist!!! :bouncegre I'm so excited for you! :bouncegre

Always keep your mind open. If something doesn't go the way you planned, calm down and try something else. Always have back plans for styles and washing techniques!!!!!

You know you can check in with me anytime!

Congrats Hope you enjoy your journey to the natural side.:)

OT did anyone ever tell you that your look like Tony Braxton

Awwww shucks ladies! Thanks for the compliments and the encouragement. :D Most "civilians" (non LHCF members) have been supportive, other than a couple of crazy questions that they ALL ask.

"What are you going to do with it? Wear an afro?" :ohwell:

Of course there's nothing wrong with an afro, but there are soooooo many other things I can do. I just explain I'll have more flexibility and room for creativity. :)

CurleeDST: Thanks for telling me your friend's story. Hopefully, I'll also be able to cut a little at time and hope that my transition won't be too challenging as well.

Alli77: Thanks! I really liked the rock star look for the summer too. Actually, it will now be a "year-round" look. :)

Shellzfoshizzle: Thanks! Hopefully, I'll be able to master doing my natural hair as well. Also, Congrats on transitioning!

Cheleigh: Yes, I think it would be difficult to bc yourself, especially if you have some length, because you'll want it to be even. I can't wait to see your hair March. Your transition album is great.

Bublnbrnsuga: Yes, you're right, I'll be able to color more with less damage, but I normally only color once a year anyone. I don't know if I'll want to color my natural hair.

JenniferMD: Yes, you're right, I've given it lots of thought and I feel really good about it. I had to try and stretch my relaxer for awhile, so I could get a good idea of how my natural hair would be and if it was manageable. I've been relaxed since I was a child and I didn't remember what my natural hair was like. :(

Eiano: I'm glad you were inspired to stay natural. I'm sure your hair is lovely.

Devine Inspiration: I was so tempted to join the "Xmas Stretch Club", but I knew I wasn't going to relax once xmas came.

Mestiza: Come on and join me on the Natural Journey!

Patient1 & Onepraying: Thanks! Yes for me it's important to stay flexible, keep an open mind and not to have alot of expectations of what my hair is "supposed" to be like.

Nappyme: No, I've never been compared to Tony Braxton. Maybe it's your computer. :look: I think Tony is very pretty though. OT - I have her new CD and it's really good.

Faith: Hey Faith! You're not the only one that's surprised. I surprised myself by making it official! There's NO turning back now!!!

Sorry I couldn't address all of you, but your support is greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!!

Now I must run and catch up on reading some "Natural/Transitioning" threads. :fan:

Good luck with your transition! You've hair is beautiful now and it will be beautiful when your natural!

Way to go KT. I just did my big chop back in May 2005 and you should see my fro now. It seems like after a few months my hair started to grow like a weed. :yep: But anyways I'm happy that you decided to go natural.:weird:

Good luck on your natural journey! I'm a fan of your hair album. I didn't think your hair could be improved...it's gorgeous. I'm certain you will make it even more beautiful.

Thats a big decision. More power to ya!! Good luck. The way ladies are going, I see soon this will be called the natural long hair care forum :-))

Come on over to the other side. I said that to my girl 2 years ago and she said she could NEVER do it. Well 2 years later she is 100% natural after transitioning 18 months and she is ecstatic b/c she now has more versatility. She can wear her hair natural or get it straightened and her straightened style isn't stuck to her head from a touchup or ever limp. She loves it and so does her husband b/c every day it is something different.

Heeey, I love when my hair is limp or stuck flat to my head after a touchup:lol:

Indeed congrats on your decision. You are among one of my hair idols and the fact that you have decided to transition to natural has me reconsidering ( I attempted for 5 months, but broke down 3 weeks ago). Any who please keep us all posted.
