I have a question.

Does anyone else get a "buildup" of flakes on certain areas of the scalp-even on wash day- that feel like you have something (a bump) on your scalp? I do, and though they don't itch, I still scratch to take them out (I can't stand the idea of it). The buildup/whatever it is, comes off as if it were a scab. I've actally scratched myself bloody doing this.

I wash 2x a week with Elucence and clarify once a month with Suave.

Ideas, comments, suggestions etc.?

TIA

Do you grease/oil your scalp? If so how often?

Sounds like you are either:
1. not rinsing your products out enough

2. Using too much product

3. not clarifying enough

4. cleasing your scalp BEFORE you poo, meaning to let warm water run through your scalp and massage any excess gunk off before you shampoo.

I used to get this. Try letting a Dry/Itcy scalp conditioner sit on your scalp a fews mins before you deep con with Elucence. Sounds weird but it stopped the build up on my scalp for me. I think Ion makes one, Keracare, Elasta QP make some good ones.

Try Neosporin AF on those sore areas until they heal. Any antifungal topical cream will do actually. Oh and don't scratch or pick the sores. That's how you spread the bacteria.

Also, do you blowdry? That made the condition worse for me when I had that problem. Someone suggested a humidifier to me. Oh and up your water intake if you haven't done so already.
