If they are $10 or less and available at my local department store, sure.

I would be interested in trying out her products that would be also suitable for relax hair.
She would need to give her buyers a discount, so it will offset the shipping cost for me as well. Incentive to buy.

Absolutely. I support small black owned businesses and she really knows her stuff. I will need to see some reviews from some 4a/b's though (just as with anything) because both Kimmay and her friend have much much much looser textures then mine.

I thought the same thing until I actually tried her leave-in recipe. My hair is solidly 4b. Her leave-in loosens your hair texture while your hair is wet and my 4b hair ended up looking like 3b/3c hair wet. It does not permanently alter your texture. Try the leave-in to see what I mean.

This point was driven home to me last week. I mixed the leave-in and inadvertently put in two TABLESPOONS of Castor Oil and two TABLESPOONS of Jojoba Oil. My hair was a HAM and I couldn't figure out why until I retraced my steps and realized what I had done. I attempted to transition to natural last year and relaxed around this point in the transition because I was having a whole lot of problems detangling with the two textures. The KT leave-in is really making my transition a breeze this time.

I've been trying to find out what her degree is in. Just curious to see if it it's in the sciences. Does anyone know?

Once I get rid of all of my stash then I would def give it a try.

Her kimmaytube leave in (with my own spin on it) has been amazing!

im just gonna throw this out there....unless you're thinking about some sort of product for styling...loose or tight curls doesnt matter.

and when i say this i mean don't use mousse on 4c hair expecting it to stretch out to your shoulders but around these parts that should go without saying.

I've tried her leave in mix and it didn't work for my 4b hair. It did what you said above, brought out some definition when wet. It was a different story once my hair was dry. It didn't do anything for softness or keeping my hair feeling moisturized.

And I wasn't feeling up to trying different permutations and combinations of creamy leave-in bases. I tried it twice with the KCKT. Something good came out of this though, I found out that my hair likes KCKT on its own.

Back on topic though...I'll try her products for the following reasons:

If enough 4bs rave about it
I'm sure her products will probably be pH balanced. I want to see what difference that makes.
I no longer have the time to mix stuff up and use it up in time before it goes bad.
Still searching for what's best for my picky kinks.
I'd rather be supporting a good cause.

Definitely. Still haven't found a moisturizer that's not greasy/heavy/oily, and that helps soften and actually moisturizes my hair without me having to add more everyday. Tired of my hair looking and feeling dry if it's not straight. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It depends on what you need it for. I am five months post and planning a long term transition and I really need that loosened curl pattern in order to manage my hair when I wash it. Her leave-in is allowing me to manage my wet hair while virtually eliminating the breakage that comes with dealing with transitioning hair.

I've never tried her leave in recipe. I'm too lazy, honestly. I also found that my hair loves KCKT on it's own so I don't really "need" to try a new leave in.

So yes, I'll probably buy from her product line. I've already purchased from her store and I had a good experience so why not support black businesses? :yep:

I'd give her products a go. Why not? I know more about her hair journey than I do about all the commercial products I've purchased from various companies. A real person like her is just the kind of person I'd want to make a product and market it. She's got kinky hair that she nourished, she's got a good idea of what the woman with natural hair and relaxed/straightened hair is looking for. As far as expense goes, don't make me laugh. We've proven on this hair board that we will shell out the bucks for some product. I'm sure her prices will be as competitive as other small businesses. I would try her stuff to try it. I am interested and curious about what she is creating.

as i sit here using her leave in mix for a braid out i would be willing to buy just as a "thank you" for one of my staples.

I would buy her leave in yup? I like kckt on its own but I would buy the leave in since I never made it.

Droid typing leads to typos for me

I agree with this! :yep: I'm willing to thank her too, because that leave-in has probably done the most for me out of everything else in my regimen (well, next to Henna). Definitely a staple for years to come.

And I second happyLiberal. I'm not sure that the leave-in alters my hair texture, but I think it makes the cuticles lay so flat that they don't get caught on to each other, so you can run your fingers straight through even curly wet hair without it tangling. Not only do I use it as a leave-in after I wash and before I style, but I use it to detangle my hair before I wash. Just a light spray of water and a tiny amount per section and the tangles melt away.

BTW, I don't understand why Kimmay or others throw it out or why it goes bad. I refrigerate minds and have never thrown it out. My aloe vera juice in the back of the fridge doesn't go bad either. It lasts for 3 months or so before I've used it up, and still works great in my hair. So its not expensive or time consuming to make. I don't mix mine in a tupperware container but an empty shampoo bottle and just put 5x the mixture in it and shake it up. It lasts in the fridge for a long while.

I think you have to refrigerate it to stop it from going bad. The water in the aloe juice is a breeding ground for bacteria.

Bumping!!!

I have a lot of stuff right now, but I'd be willing to try her products.

nope but thats only because I don't have extra money to spend and I want to keep my reggie simple and stick with things I can get locally.

I'd definitely try her products for sure if the price is right and the ingredients look promising. I've yet to try her leave-in recipe. As a matter of fact, I should give that a whirl. My sis has some knot today, I got some castor and jojoba oil. Alls I need is the aloe juice and it's on and poppin.

Probably not

I'm am curious about the ingredients though.

I am sure someone will recreate whatever she is selling if the price is too high.

I'm really surprised not many people would give them a try, right off the bat. :perplexed

Or should I be surprised?

If the line comes out and everyone is ranting and raving about the line, the PJs will come out and it will be a whole other story, lets wait and see:grin:

No because my hair is picky everytime someone is raving about a product and I go out to try it the results are just lackluster I will pass..

Once that the rave reviews come in, I'm sure most of you who said no will buy it. Plus I'm guessing her range will feature more than just the leave in..
