I tried putting shea butter on my ends before putting rollers on. I separate and comb the length of the piece I'm about to roll, put shea butter on the last inch or two, roll it up, dry under the hood and voila - LIKE BUTTA! :D

I tried it this weekend and once you get under the dryer is melts like butter. My ends were super soft and moisturized. I loved it.

I haven't been using my shea butter. I bought pure shea butter a few years ago imported from Africa, from Whole Foods for my skin. I hope it's still good to use on my hair...

I like the effect of the shea butter I must say those are some good tips! Like everyone said like butter. At first I thought it looked to greasy but when I wrapped my hair around my haed and took it down it had dispersed all over my hair and it lookd so shiny and healthy! I took my shea butter that I got from Bath and Body Works and ran some warm water and let it sit to melt it and it worked better than I thought!

I have some shea butter...I'll give this a try, my ends need a little extra help these days.

Thanks for the tips!

To keep ends from drying out and splitting, apply shea butter to the ends only. Apply deep conditioner to the rest of your hair and go under the dryer for 10 minutes on medium heat. Cholesterol conditioner can be substituted for the shea butter.
In putting the Cholesterol on the ends, is this done everyday on dry hair just like the shea butter???

Did anyone keep this up? Any updates?
I do most of these steps anyway, except for the shea butter and cutting 1/2 to 1 inch off of my ends each relaxer time. I will be doing the avocado in the near future.

Oooh, I love this thread. Thanks so much! The espresso as hair coloring sounds so cool, i never heard that one before. Maybe, I'll try my beloved Proclaim Aloe& Shea Butter conditioner on the ends of my hair tonight... :scratchch

Finally some Dominican secrets! :p

I'm always searching for Dominican hair websites on Google and come up empty ... guess they don't want Web surfers to steal their secrets.

These are great!

OK. I just did the raw egg condition treatment.

It is Heaven. As common sense would dictate, it's a protein and cholesterol treatment in one.

My hair is soft, elastic, strong, and shiny. :yay:

BUT it did leave my hair tangled.

So, I used a detangler in the shower. That helped ...after drying ...still a little more tangled than usual. So, I spritz on a conditioning spray.

After I used my Caruso rollers, I had to style gently, because ...the tangles.

But still soft, bouncy, and shiny. ...So, the lite tangles aren't enough for me to stop.

Next time I might just have to do a moisturizing deep treatment right after. I will definitely do this weekly.

What I did: whisked two eggs. Added NO water. Poured the egg over my head and massaged in. Put a plastic bag over it for an hour. Took bag off, let egg dry in. Then rinsed out and used a 2-3 minute detangler.

Next up: Avocado treatement tomorrow. :)

The avocado I can testify is the truth, I tried it last Sunday for my breakage and it stopped the breakage in it's tracks.

I sooo want to try the espresso on dry hair color enhancer trick. I had a little espresso in my larder but it was old and caked solid and it expired last year. :ohwell:

So I'll have to buy some more and get back to you guys on that one. :look:

Avocado REview:

OK. While I LOVED the eggs and shea butter tips and will be using those regularly .... Avocado hates me.

I mashed up a ripe avocado. Mixed in a little milk and olive oil, slathered it on my hair ...put on a heat cap for just a bit, then sat with it on for an hour.

When I rinsed out that stuff would not leave my head. It is sooo heavy and leaves so much build up. I had to shampoo it out and then (since that was my second shampoo of the day) I had to do a quick in-shower conditioner, then a deep moisturizer.

I bought two avocados. I'm just going to eat the other one. :( My hair didn't feel soft or moisturized at all.

Thanks for the review, although, I'm sorry things didn't work out.
