Another thread got me to thinking...

Is it bad?? What are the ingredients?? I used it yrs ago for my nightly wraps and it worked well for me. I swiped some from my mom not too long ago. I used it once (I know a very little goes a long way), but after I immediatly wondered if y'all would talk about me if you knew :lachen: :lachen:

So give me some feedback on it please!

I don't know the ingredients and I think they're not listed on the bottle. Maybe the company is worried someone will steal the recipe.

My experiences with Kemi Oyl haven't been too good. It didn't do too much for my hair when I was relaxed and my coils laughed at it and told it to pull its pants up and go home when I became natural. It seemed greasy and not easily absorbed. I also can't get past that Dimetap Grape smell. *shudder*

I'm sure some of the other ladies may have had better experiences.

:lachen: :lachen: I call it grape kool-aid...but I think you got it right!

You know what I noticed...my mom bought hers from walgreens and it has way less of that grapey smell. I wonder if the Chinaman bss is a knockoff

I love kemi oyl. I love the smell and what it does for my hair. It's one of my old stand bys.
Great thread. It never occurred to me that people have bad experiences with it. That's how much I love it.

I knew somebody would...I just didn't know how many people or if there was some MAJOR no-no about it.

I think you and I have similar hair. I remember really liking it. I'm thinking about revisiting it. I like to have three oils (lt., med. and heavy) for different things. Right now I only have two and need a heavy one...

I think we do too. :yep: I don't use kemi often anymore but I should. IMHO if it working then the no-no does not apply. :nono:

I like kemi-oyl. I remember when it first came out back in the day and it was soooooo precious. LOL!!

I don't know what the ingredients are for fact, but I have my theories. :)

They list it as essential oils and fragrance but I doubt that big a bottle of eos is cost efficient AND eos are more watery in nature.

That said, I don't think it's a cause for authorities to be called in. I use my own oil blends, but I know I have some kemi in the stash somewhere. I like the way it smells.

Yep...they kept it behind the counter like it was liquid gold :lachen:

I need to learn some more about EO's and make my own...good for you!
