kccc concoctions

What are y'all adding to your kccc to keep your hair from being crispy? I was hoping this would be a cheaper alternative than miss jessies curly pudding, but it feels like gel.

Also, can someone post the link to the knock off miss jessies curly pudding recipie? And does it work just as well?
