Just Curious... How Many Are Following "Curly Girl"?

I'm doing a modified version. I no-poo every other day or every two days (too cold) and I use my shea butter cream in addition as my leave in. So far it's working well for me.

I'm planning to do a modified version...shampooing once every three weeks. Conditioner washes on Tue, Thurs, and Saturday and deep conditioning every Sunday.

I have a modified version for right now until I run out of shampoo. I plan on alternating between co-washing and shampooing every week (co-wash one week, shampoo the next week). I don't want to let my shampoo go to waste so once I use my shampoo up, I will only do co-washing. ;)

MEEEEEEEEE!! I'm a Curly Girl!! No poo and no cones for me!!!:) I really don't think I'll ever use shampoo again.. so I prolly won't use any products with cones every again..unless they are the water soluable ones because you need shampoo to get the non-water soluable ones out..

Hey Rushgirl

Question for ya... Which "cones" are water soluable?

My fav conditioner Pantene HC & S&S both have cones... gosh, I hope they're water soluable cones...

Peachtree, I don't think the 'cones in Pantene are water soluable. I use a modified curly girl regimen. I only shampoo once I get product build up or if I'm going to deep condition, which is about once a month. Since I still shampoo, I don't worry much about 'cones so I use DDTA (has cones), Suave (cone free), Tresemmé (I think it has 'cones), etc. I use mild shampoos like CON and Elasta's Creme Conditioning. I use Elucence's clarifying when I need to, which is every three to four months. Since Den1 had such a good result using Lorraine's Lemon Aid clarifying treatment, I might try that and forgo shampooing all together.

Nurse, is ur regimen free from shampoo altogether?

No, I shampoo every two weeks but with Elasta QP creme shampoo which has the ingredient in it that the author mentions. It's a lot less stripping to my hair. I think the best thing I read in her book was to avoid silicones. Since I've been doing that and doing CO washes, my hair is finally getting along with me :)

I've been following a modified version of the curly girl method since November, last year. here's what i do.

*********************************************************
Clarify and Deep condition once a week
**********************************************************
The Lemonaid regime by Lorraine Massey consists of squeezing a whole lemon juice into a generous amount of conditioner and adding it to scalp and wet hair.

click this link for practical a guide.

After clarifying with Lemonaid treatment, I deep condition for 30-60 minutes with one of the following conditioners:-

- Keracare humecto crème
- Lekair cholesterol mixed with 1/2 eggs and coconut milk
- motions oil silk protein
- Joico intensive moisturiser

*********************************************************
I FOLLOW THE CURLY GIRL METHOD FOR CORSCREW CURLS (basically co washing 2X a week)
*********************************************************
I wash hair and scalp with one of the following conditioners: VO5 Creamy Fresh peaches, VO5 Split ends, VO5 free me freesia, VO5 Kiwi and Lime Squeeze.

sometimes i clarify with shampoo once in a while, however i'm hoping to completely replace this for my lemon aid routine.

I'm following a slightly modified version as well, I NEED to shampoo my hair at least twice a month or I feel kinda "icky" but other than that I do the daily conditioner washes.

Off hand I don't know..but I'll send the link for the article on NC about cones.. also there is a cone combo that when these certain cones are together in a product..the combo of them makes them water soluable.. does that make sense??

Here is the article: The real scoop on silicones

This sounds very similar to what I'm currently doing. I only use shampoo when needed, which is only about once a month. I do cw's just about everyday.
