Just a vent

I am kinda disappointed. I had finally gotten up the courage to go to a stylist (after having several bad experiences in the past), and then decided to cancel my appointment. She wanted to charge a $15 "long hair fee." A $15 deep conditioning fee. Plus a flat fee of $35 for just a roller set. I said that I did not need the protein deep conditioner because I just gave myself one two weeks ago. She wanted to insist that I have one. Just her whole attitude seemed to be "I'm the stylist; you're the client." To make a long story short, she remains the stylist, but I am no longer a client. I cancelled my appoinment. If she couldn't even listen to me before touching my head, then she certainly wouldn't listen to me once she was doing my hair. I'm taking the same money I would've spent and going product shopping. Haven't done that in a while.

There are so many stylists like that. I usually can bargain my way out of any 'thickness' or long hair surcharge but it's annoying even dealing with that. That's one of the reasons why I don't go to them anymore.
BTW- I just looked at your album-your hair looks awesome.

Good for you, if you are paying for ANY service, you should get what you want! Hope you got yourself something pretty to make up for all the stress the stylist gave you.

I Agree the stylist didn't listen then you don't need the stylist. Keep looking for one that will. Did the stylist even see your hair, or did you talk to her on the phone.

oooh, your hair is fabulous! i was just lookin in your album....that thingie on the door that holds all your products, where did you get that?? thats exactly what i need!

Thanks everyone. You guys are great. No, the stylist didn't even see my hair. Over the phone (this was a JC Penney Salon), the receptionist said they would do the protein treatment if my hair was damaged, and I heard the stylist speak up and say she would do one anyway! I was like, uh-uh. I had already planned to just let her do a rollerset, just to see how she did before getting her to do a relaxer touch-up.

Shatani, I got that over-the-door shelf at Wal mart. It was less than $20, and it held my hair care product collection even at the peak of my pj-dom!
