Like so many lately, I'm finally coming out of the lurker's closet. I'm out and proud now!

Here's me:

I've been natural on and off sine 2005. The first two times I went natural, I really didn't know what I was doing. I didn't keep my hair moisturized, and I couldn't understand why my hair was so tangled.

This last time, I didn't know what I was doing (I big chopped -again- February 2007, 3 months after getting my first relaxer in months). I had found some natural resources online, but I didn't have the money to follow them (college student). Well, now, I'm taking it a lot more seriously. Perhaps, even too seriously, but I've wanted long hair since I was a little girl.

I've been lurking full-time since September. Before that, I only visited every now and then.

My regimen is going through a change right now, so I haven't perfected it. I started using ayurvedic products Friday. I was able to find all the products at an Indian store near my school. My hair really loves coconut oil. Washing my hair with the powders helped my hair bounce back after I had a minor setback with a product I used (Smooth 'N Shine - I was going to attempt straightening my hair). But now, the winter weather is getting to my hair. I can't touch my hair without getting hair in my hands. I'm hoping after long term use of ayurvedic products, my hair will fully recover. :yep:

Oh, and for those interested, these are my products:
-Giovanni's Deeper Moisture conditioner - for DC 2x a week
-VO5's Champagne Kiss - for co-washing/mixing to make a leave-in
-Amla oil
-Vatika Oil
-Shikakai/Amla/Neem powders
-Coconut oil

Almost forgot: I have 4-ish hair. The longest part is past shoulder length. The shortest is nose length. My hair grows in layers, and it being short, it really bothers me. If it was long and growing in layers, I don't think I'd care so much. Just wish the rest of it would catch up. :poke:

So yes, now that I'm out and proud, please accept me in your club.

Welcome to the club! :giggle:

I'm lovin the fro, and your smile is contagious! :D

Welcome. You are using some great products. ITA about your smile. Happy hair growing!

WELCOME, I HIGHLY HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU ADD SHEA BUTTER TO YOUR STAPLES. Im slow to jump on bandwagons but I noticed a lot of the fellow 4naturals were using it when twisting or braiding their hair. I now know why. I wish I had used it sooner. Anyhow your right coconut oil is dope ;)

""-Shikakai/Amla/Neem powders""- what does this do for your hair, Ive noticed others use it but for what??

Girl, sometimes "jumping on a bandwagon" is the only way to get where you wanna go. Welcome to the club!

Oh, I know! I used to use Shea butter, but I recently ran out, and I've been trying to get some more.

As for the powders, I hope someone can explain it better than I can but here goes:

Amla powder cleans the hair. Shikakai powders conditions the hair. Neem powder is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal and rids the hair of dandruff.
