Hey so this is my update after being on my hair journey for approx 15mos starting from CBL. I never knew I could have long hair until I found the hair boards. So thanks to everyone here.

Anyways back to my update, I got my install done on May 14th, 2010 and I removed it yesterday July 30th, so in total I had it in 11wks. I was soo wanting to stretch it until 16wks(Sep 1st). But I was soo afraid of having a setback. Because I had my baby in April so I knew I was having all kinds of postpartum shedding under that weave. And I was right check the pics. I ended up removing like a whole sink full of shed hair when I took this install down. (There was even more shed hair than I have in the pics below) But my hair is still hella thick so Im happy I prevented that setback.

I took the install hair out, prepoo'd(EVOO and Cowboy Magic) under heat while my base braids were still in. Then I removed the braids and some of the shed hair.

I put my hair in 4 plaits. The I cowashed with Suave Humectant(Staple), detangled and removed more shed hair.

I washed with Sally's new Argan Oil intensive moisturizing shampoo(which I feel sucked, my hair did not feel moisturized, maybe I'll give it another shot only because I had a lot going on in my head). Took the plaits down. Then I did and ACV rinse,, rinsed with cool water. Then did BTR and then rinsed with cool water. At this point my hair felt great strong and soft at the same time. Put my hair back in plaits and DC'd with my own concoction(mixture of EVOO, Blackstrap Molasses, Aussie 3min, Wheat germ oil, Olive oil Cholesterol, coconut milk, honey, and lime juice, um... I think that was it...?) When under heat for 20 minutes. Then undid each braid one at a time and rinsed the DC out each braid and removed shed hairs, rebraided to air dry. (FYI: the only reason I kept braiding and unbraiding is because I could tell I would still have more shed hair coming out and it seemed like it would all just come out at one time usually it would be in one set of plaits through my whole process) So next I sprayed the plaits with aphogee green tea kertin mist. And took my butt to sleep after all of that I was too dang tried. And my feet hurt, bad. haha

Today, which is the next morning, I flat ironed each section I used Argan oil and Tresemme for my heat protectants. And did a light flat iron using my Maxiglide on 5.

Your hair looks great..really healthy. I have shed hair like that after taking crochet braids down and I haven't had a baby. :perplexed

Carter is sooooo cuuuuuute!!!

Oh My GOODNESS! Beautiful hair and progress. Thanks for the inspiration...just what I needed to ensure i stay "sewed" up!

Your hair looks great!! That is one thing that I do not look forward to is shedding after my son is mon in Sept. But after I had my daughter last April, I did not experience any shedding, however, I did not wear braids either, or use any growth products like OCT and MT. Pray for me n wish me luck.

Btw, your son is so adorably juicy!! I could just kiss those cheeks all day!!!

I LOVE your hair and Carter is too cute with his expression. I had my baby in Oct and I am just now recovering from the shedding. My edges were almost bald. I am in love with the thickness of your hair. Keep up the great job with your hair.

Gosh, your baby is so CUTE!! :D :D

and your hair is lovely! I was shocked by the amount shed but then I remembered the time frame + amount shed daily and see why! You have a LOT of hair, so it would look like more than a shorter haired person.

Beautiful progress!!! And Carter is tooo darn adorable with a head full of hair. I guess he gets it from his momma!:yep:

Great progress! Beautiful son!
