Jojoba oil = WOW!

I bought a bottle of NOW jojoba oil, and used it after I washed/conditioned, putting it on my itchy scalp, and a little on my hair.
My hair has not looked this shiny and felt this soft in I don't know when! I'm truly amazed...how could I have overlooked this stuff for so long?!

Would it be o.k. to use it in my shampoos, and conditioners, or would that be too much of a good thing? And is it better to mix it with another oil, like coconut or olive, rather than using it by itself? I also plan to mix some peppermint oil in with it...love that tingle!

I'll be doing my happy hair dance while I wait for replies...thanx! :woot:

:) :) Hey, where did you get the jojoba oil from? Ive always heard that jojoba oil was really good at softening the hair. I use Kemi Oyl and I think that it has jojoba oil in it but Im not too sure. Let me know. Thanks

Love jojoba oil. I use it after my leave-in as well as an add-in to my deep conditioners. Good stuff. On top of that, it's the closest oil to the skin's sebum so it's great for oiling the scalp.

I bought my oil at Whole Foods...they've got the best selection of oils and eo's that I've found so far. They should also have the oils at stores like Trader Joes and Wild Oats.

Thanks Divine Inspiration, I'll be adding jojoba to my dp's as well. BTW, I LOVE  your hair...mine wants to be like yours when it grows up!

ITA. I add it to many of products. You do not have to mix it with any other oil if you dont want to.

I know Wild Growth Hair Oil contains jojoba oil in addition to olive and coconut oil. It's pretty good. I also use the Aveda Beautifying Composition which is jojoba oil along with and a blend of essences, including rosemary and bergamot. I use either of these on the ends of my hair every other day and rub a dime size amount in my hands and rub it onto my hair for shine sometimes instead of using serum.

Thanks so much for replying. Im definitely gonna go and get some jojoba oil from the health food store next weekend because Im so tired of using all this stuff thats full of different chemicals just to make my hair soft. Do you use any additional moisturizers with the jojoba oil?

I discovered how great Jojoba oil was last month and I love it.
I have the Now Brand of Jojob oil also.

This time I just put in on over my leave in conditioner...it's been a couple of days and my hair is still smooth shiny and so soft. I'm sure some of the ladies use it with additional moisturizers...I haven't tried that yet, but I will! ;)

How are you using it?
I have mixing it with Jamaican Black Castor oil as a hot oil treatment with heating cap for 20 min before my protein treatments.
I also use it as a moisturizer after co washes you only need a little and it works great.
