Joico Moisture Recovery

Supergirl

With Love & Silk
Someone mentioned this product the other day and the PJ rose up in me! One of you please try it. Don't make me be the guinea pig... 'cause you know I will be the guinea pig if necessary. I went to their website and read about it. Sounds good--besides Joico's reputation precedes them IMO. :)

I've never tried this before but I will soon. I love joico products . I've tried so many of them before and I've never been let down. I'll give you a feedback when I do try it. :)

Dang, its got an insoluable cone right up there in the top 4! I am on the hunt for a protein free, cone free deep moisturizing condish -- I currently use humecto which is very good but it too has an insoluable cone and I want to find something else when I use up this tub. Roux Porosity Control is cone free and protein free and its great for co-washing but not moisturizing (and thick enough, IMO) for deep condishing. I am slowly eliminating products with insoluable cones, replacing them with 'cone free or water soluable cones products only. That's one reason I love nexxus premium line, totally 'cone free, but they all have protein. Oh well, back to the hunt . . .

Joico Moisture Recovery - ingredients:
Deionized Water (Aqua), Isopentyldiol, Sorbitol, Dimethicone, Stearyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol, Steartrimonium Chloride, Ethtlhexyl Palmitate, Simondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Hydrolyzed Algin, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Sea Water, Hydramine Sea Complex, Hydrolyzed Human Hair Keratin (Quadrimine Complex) Laurdimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Human Hair Keratin, Aminopropyl Dimethicone, PEG-6 Methyl Ether Dimethicone, PEG-90M, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Citrate, Stearyl, Dihydroxypropyldimonium Oligosaccharides, Citric Acid, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Fragrance (Parfum), EXT. Violet 2 (CI 60730), Blue 1 (CI 42090), Yellow 5 (CI 19140).

This is good to know--I understand exactly where you're coming from about the cones. Could you tell me which cones are water soluble. I'd love to know this information. :) ('cause I haven't a clue!)

For sure I know that "dimethicone copoyol" is water soluable, and I know that some other combinations create water-soluableness, but I'm not sure of all of them. Dimethicone by itself is not water-soluable and in the above ingredents, it is listed by itself as the 4th item, which IMO, imeans its probably got a lot in it. Then it lists "dimethicone" at least 2 more times much further down the list as "Aminopropyl Dimethicone" and "PEG-6 Methyl Ether Dimethicone", but I don't know whether these are water soluable compounds or not.

I actually bought this yesterday.

I use the recently discontinued Moisturizer line by Joico and, after emailing their consumer affairs, they suggested that I use the Moisture Recovery as a replacement.

I have not used it yet because I still have a little of the Joico Moisturizer conditioner. I will post a review after i use it, but if it is anythign like the Moisturizer conditioner, I will be very pleased.

This stuff always did a good job even if i just used it as a rinse out conditioner.

I only used the conditioner and what I didn't like was that it just seemed to leave a big, plastic coat on my hair.

I used this once after the K-Pak reconstructor. I LOVED it. It left my hair extremely soft. I don't remember if I used any leave ins afterwards, but I did air dry, and my hair STILL felt like silk. I haven't used it since then though. I sure do hate that is has insoluable cones. I'll just use it after the K-Pak protein.

I've used it as a deep conditioner. Sat under the dryer with a plastic cap for about 15 mins and my hair was so unbelievably moisturized afterwards.

I wanted to bump this up to give my product review.

First I let my boyfriend try it out. he has 2c hair and he said he loved it. The way he was raving about the stuff was too funny because he is usually the type to just put any type of shampoo/conditioner in his hair. I orginally asked him to use it because I really didn't have time to test it out the day I got it and I was scared that if I used it I might not like it or have time to "fix" my hair in the event I had some technical difficulties after using it

Well I tried it today and let me say...THIS IS SOME GOOD STUFF! For the most part, I love Joico's products (except that altima conditioner) and I am glad i brought this stuff.

Both products smell wonderful and are very moisturizing. When i used the shampoo my hair felt clean but not dried out. The conditioner is very thick which somewhat caught me off guard but it works well. I barely had any hair in the comb while detangling with my shower comb. When i rinsed my hair felt really silky and nice

When it came to styling my hair was very moist and easy to manage, with little hair in the comb. This is around the time my hair starts shedding and I was suprised how well my hair was doing. Although this product has cones in it, my hair did not feel "waxy" the same way other products have left my hair. :)

I used it in the past when I was relaxed. I really enjoyed it.
How long ago where you relaxed? The impression I got from the website was that the product was "new" but then again who knows if they mean its the newest edition to the joico line or new as in just invented.

Love, love, love the Joico moisture recovery conditioner. When I was shedding so badly earlier this year, I used this conditioner for three months without a deep condition. My hair retain all it's growth. My hair was always moisturized.
Using this conditioner before a rollerset give me such a moist, soft, silky rollerset. Love it.

I used the Joico Moisture Recovery conditioner yesterday as a pre-shampoo treatment with Spectrum Organic Coconut Oil. After I shampooed it out my hair felt very moisturized.

Today before I went to the Dominican Salon I applied Joico Moisture Recovery Conditioner to the ends of my hair---hair still damp and wet from airdry ponytail on yesterday and applied more Joice Moisture Recovery in 4 sections to my hair.

Went to Dominican Salon--got hair shampooed and rinse out conditioner and my hair felt great. The shampoo girl and stylist both said I had nice hair and a lot of it. I will repurchase the Joico Moisture Recovery Conditioner again and I will try out the Shampoo that goes with it.

This stuff is good. It's the only shampoo that's gottn my hair plush soft. I need to buy more by the way!

Which conditioner do you use? The regular one or the intensive one

Yeah, the more I look at the website, the more the PJ in me crouches into "pounce" mode.

I'm almost done w/my 'poo at home, so maybe I should just buy it now so I won't have to go look for it later :sekret: <PJ lol! Ooh, conditioners *drools*
