Jesus Calling 2014

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to start a thread for anyone else who is doing the Jesus Calling daily devotionals so we can discuss our thoughts/take-aways from the book and referenced verses.

The writings for January 1st really spoke to me... specifically "Do no cling to old ways as you step into a new year." I'll definitely be looking for "old ways" that aren't a positive force in my life and be re-evaluating them this month.

Key quotes I liked from today's devotional reading are:

"Try saying "I trust You, Jesus," in response to whatever happens to you."
"Adverse circumstances become growth opportunities when you affirm your trust in Me no matter what."

I like the concept that bad situations can be used as launch pads for growing your faith and clinging to Jesus instead of pulling away from Him.
