So I am in lust with both of these oils; however, I want to ensure that I am getting the best of these two oils and not weigh down my hair - I need my swang and cannot imagine using the both at the same time!

Are any of ladies using these products together successfully? If so please explain if it's being used as a sealant? on the scalp? etc. etc. and what benefits you have noticed from them both

HELP!!!!!!

I have in the past month or so just gotten back to my JBCO. When I did my concoction before. Vatika mixed with JBCO and a few EO's I got REALLY good growth. It was as if every other time I measured, it was always noticeable longer, it ended up below BSL then I had to cut it because of the crazy cones I was using, my hair is sensitive to cones and the damage to far gone to repair. I am back at it again and I am going to see if it works again---along with my egglette routine and exercise (I weightlift and do at least 50 of cardio, at least 4-5 (more like 5-6) days a week.)

hm. with these oils it's like comparing apples to raspberries. both are wonderful oils, but they behave very differently.

never used jbco but if it's anything like regular castor oil, then it's a heavy, somewhat sticky oil. people use it to fill in their edges, & it's a great oil to seal with.

vatika oil, on the other hand, is very light. it's a great oil to use for a bit of shine, & i particularly enjoy pouring it on my scalp for overnight oil treatments. however, this oil isn't all that good to seal with during the winter months, because the coconut oil in vatika solidifies in cold weather.

if you want shine, go for vatika, but if you want a thick protective sealant, go for jbco :yep:

...or just mix them both together. When my hair is straightened, I don't use oils but when I'm bunning, that Vatika/JBCO mix on damp hair is the bee's knees! My hair dries luxuriously soft and all of my moisture is sealed in. Like the previous poster stated, Vatika since it's coconut based is not a good idea in cold climates. This time of year, I use it at night on my hair and scalp and don't have any problems w/it getting hard in my hair in the mornings. Even with the hardening, it'll soften up again once warm.

Vatika is MUCH lighter than JBCO, but personally I prefer plain coconut oil to either of these. I basically use JBCO either mixed w/ other oils or neat on nape/edges only. I've had the bottle for a year and have only used 1/4 or less of it. A little of that goes along way.
