Miss Brown, thanks a billion for the info. Where did you find a phone number? At least I can stop sitting here holding my breath... I found a Jamaica store here but when I stopped in, they had some of everything BUT castor oil. The lady behind the counter was like "isn't that just for use as a laxative?" I went on to explain what I'd use it for, she gave me the look like I was

. She said they use it 'back home'. I'm going by there today again cause they had some other stuff I've been wanting to use, I'll see if she can perhaps get some ordered.

Chaou, unfortunately I'm in California but I appreciate the offer very much. Perhaps your mom can send some to you for me and I'd be more than happy to pay for it if the JP place doesn't come through?

I'll keep w/my other stuff castor oil until I get the real-mccoy...

No prob, LaNecia. The number was on their website (770-614-1995), and the message kinda sounded like somebody's house party with Bob Marley playing in the background

Anyway, once you get the machine, press "1" for the store's voicemail.

Most people from the carribean view castor oil as an ingredient for homemade remedies or what the poor people use on their hair coz they can't afford grease. That's probably why the lady was giving you that look.

Hair Benefits:
Hot Castor Oil massaged into the hair will strengthen it and eliminate dandruff, lice, fleas, and other scalp problems. Mixed with olive oil, it will blacken hair and mixed with cocoa butter, it will make it grow. The leaves can be used in a bath to reduce swelling in the joints, to relieve all bodily pains, and to increase the flow of milk in nursing mothers.

just thinking about it makes me sick. making kids drink this stuff is pure child abuse!!
I'll just stick to putting it on my scalp-

LOL! I can only imagine. Fortunately I don't have any experience taking it internally. I'm speaking of purely topical uses. It's quite an impressive list of ailments that it can treat! If I have time later today, I'll post some of the links.

I had to drink Castor Oil in Orange Juice as a child-Disgusting! It wasn't the Black kind though.

How do you apply castor oil? It's pretty thick, so do you heat it up and then apply it to your scalp? I am clueless

Can someone answer this question? Since its so thick..I keep thinking that it would clog the scalp but I'm willing to try it.

Haha! That is funny, because my mom and my aunties always roll their eyes at me when I put shea butter in my hair:] Apparently, shea butter is what all the poorest of people in Ghana use for everything from cooking to "greasing their faces." They cannot even stand the smell of it, because it reminds them of the poor ghettos of Ghana. Haha. Whatever. They just do not know
