Jamaican Black Castor Oil

Guess what, the kind I bought is not black. I ordered Tropic Isle Black Castor Oil from Sams and it isn't black. Is it supposed to be black? Is that just the name. Someone please help a stupid sister out. Thanks.

Mine looks like molasses.

Where did you get yours? I got mine from Sam's and it is not brown. It looks just like regular castor oil even though it is labeled Jamaican black castor oil. Are you supposed to shake it up or something. This really aggravates me.

Don't be aggravated!

It's just called "black" castor oil...no shaking it up is necessary. My stuff from Sams was definately darker than the regular castor oil I'd buy at the store.

(personally, when I used it, I never noticed a real difference between the "black" oil and the regular one. )

Real Jamaican black Castor oil should look like this in appearance;

thick
green/brown
cloudy dark sediments that settle to the bottom of the bottle
when using you would need to shake to stir the sediments through out the oil

My regular castor oil is a tinted yellow color, it is cold pressed. My Jamaican Black Castor oil from Sams is the color of maple syrup.
