I think I'm just done with this hair stuff
My hair can only grow to a certain point it seems
And even when it grows to that point, the whole middle of my head is 2 inches shorter so its like I'm getting no where
Its approaching a year since i started LHCF and I'm in the same place I was when I started, to me it seems even worst!
So I just can't do it, it makes me furious!
Everyone's not meant to have long thick healthy hair.
I cant have all three
If its thick and healthy its not long
If its long its not thick and healthy
And then I chop it to even it out, it looks great, and five months later is all jacked again
I took MSM, vitamins, erthang else
Dun bought up every product (I actually have found stuff that works to manage my hair so no complaint there)

Used up an almost full 32 oz of MSG
GEEZ!!
(sorry to complain)
Thanks for the support throughout this year guys!

Oh... hush! You're doing a heck of a lot better than some of us! Look at your siggy! I just don't know how to help you tho....

Your hair is beautiful so you must be doing something right.

What are you doing to cause the middle of the head to be so much shorter? Are you pinning your hair up with a chip, that will break the hair off?

What's your regimen?

Wanna trade hair? Your hair is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! You are definitely doing something right. It looks full, thick, healthy and shiny. Be thankful you don't have thin-looking, dull, dry hair. I know you want length, but you are truly blessed to have what you already have.

Good luck in your endeavors, though. I hope your wildest dreams come true!

GIRL.... I dont have my siggies turned on, so wasnt able to see ALLL THAT LUSCIOUS HAIR....had to go look at ur profile... man you betta stop tripping.... it looks good... Maybe the culprit is you stressing ova it... dont think about it, and u may notice ur at BSL or pasting it in future...

thank you guys for all the compliments!
I have NOT gone mad LOL!!!
My hair gives off good illusions
Illusions of being whats it not
Or maybe I'm just delusional
But I feel its unhealthy, uneven, and thin
I have volume but not THICKNESS
I dont know
Maybe Im buggin but I know that I told myself I would end LHCF if I am in the same spot a year later
So when I get my hair pressed on May 19th
I will KNOW

I think the tie in the middle of the head is causing breakage. So we got that, now to length. Has all these additional items and vits helped with growth or are you still getting the same amount of growth you were getting before taking and doing these additional things.

You do have volume:) , maybe henna can help with the thickness.

The only reason why I am against henna is because I've seen my Nana and my Aunt use it for years and the end result was thinning

Ok - I can understand that we all may not see something you may see all the time, but still - Tsk(suck teeth) you better stay on LHCF to encourage sisters like me to press on. I ain't playin! lol Some of us need to see gorgeous hair like yours to keep us going.

life is so funny the ones who have straight hair wants curly hair, the ones with curly hair wants straight hair, the ones with short hair wants it long and so on and so on, my dear your hair is awesomely beautiful and thick and I truly admire your hair sometimes our hair do strange things and act weird just have patience and let it do it's thing I bet next year around this time you would have another story about your hair, just love your hair and be thankful because I love your hair:)

I hope you change your mind and decide to stay. A year really isn't that long to see a complete turn around. I don't know if you had damaged hair before but you have to give the damage time to grow out and then you will definitely see progress. During my first year I was tweaking a solid regimen and getting things down packed as far as treatments and trimming and stuff so I really didn't see huge progress either. Just keep it simple and your hair will grow.

Don't fall victim to HAIR ANOREXIA, Ebony!!!

From what I can see in your siggy and Fotki, your hair is thick and beautiful. Like somebody already mentioned, if you stress over it, then it will never seem to get better. You might have to take a hair hiatus (where you don't worry over it) and learn to accept what you have (which looks beautiful!). Dlewis is right, if you clip your hair up in the same spot everyday, that could lead to the breakage you have at your crown. We're always here to help you, but please don't believe that your hair "just won't grow". It will! Even if you don't want long hair, your hair can always be healthy. You don't need tons of fancy products for that.

You need to cut all this out. You know from being around here....It can be done. You just might to switch up some things you are doing.

Gosh, I'm surprised that you don't have a regimen and you want to quit. What exactly is it that you will be quitting? Maybe you should add some steps to your regimen that will help to preserve your ends, such as baggying, daily moisture, protective styles etc.

I was kinda worried about that lack of a regimen too. Not everybody moisturizes daily, but it sounds like you're suggesting that your hair is dry. Maybe this is a step you can add? It really doesn't take that much time out of your day, but (IMO) the benefits are worth it.

 Girl quit playin. lol Your grass is GRAND! :p

Listen to dlewis about the ties though. The tension was really hurting me and I didn't realize it until after the damage was done. I bunned and wore ponytails. I pulled my hair too taught and my edges paid for it. They're recovering and catching up now though! :D (yay!)

Take a break slap it in some braids or somthing (take a picture first) then just make sure you use moustire in it daily then give it about 2 half to 3 months and then see if you REALLY want to quiet :D

i have faith in you girl ;)

OK, I just went and looked at your Fotki again...and I couldn't help but notice that just about every caption you have on a photo is negative:( . What's up with that, girl? You make it sound like your hair is just an unsalvagable MESS, and that's not true! I happen to think it looks gorgeous in every picture, natural or straightened!:D

What your hair really needs is some positive vibes. I am so serious about this. It's like you have low-hair-self-esteem:look: . You really need to snap out of that mindset. God gave you a beautiful head of hair, worthy to be proud of! Please don't speak so negatively about it. We're all guilty of it:nono: , but we really should be happy with what we have, and focus on making it as healthy as possible.

Now, let me get off of my soap box.:look:

You mention that your hair is dry, what do you do to combat dryness? What deep conditioner do you use?

I moisturize like every other day
I think I dont have a good one though
Maybe I need to change that up and make it an every day thing ESPECIALLY in the middle of my head

Now you know you need to come with the details! What are you currently using?

oh my goodness
YOU'RE SO RIGHT!!
I suffer from the glass is half empty syndrome
I just don't feel like I'm getting anywhere
I deep condition with Elucence or Aubrey's
I think daily moisturizing maybe be key though
But I dont get why the sides of my hair are long, healthy, and strong with few splits

Dudley's PCA has a lot of protein. I use it too, but I could not imagine putting that on natural hair. Maybe you should start experimenting with moisturizers, I recommend the Hollywood beauty carrot oil or NTM Silk Touch Leave In. Check the ingredients of whatever you buy so you can see which are giving you good results. Also, you need an oil to seal. WGO, coconut, Hot 6, and olive oil are all good. Also, you may want to lay off the MTG since you said it is not helping you.

Hmmm. Stay away from the Infusium 23 for now, it's a protein-based product, and it could be contributing to your dryness/breakage.

I'm not too familiar with the Dudley's PCA. You might want to look that up with the "Search" function and see what other members have to say about that.

If you're not afraid of mixing up stuff, you can make your own daily moisturizing spritz on the cheap. Just mix some water, cheap (cone-free!) conditioner, glycerine, and oil in a bottle and spray on your hair daily. Here's a recipe on MotownGirl's website. She also has some moisturizer reviews. I personally use Qhemet Biologics Sidr Tree Butter Balm and Africa's Best Carrot Oil Cream on my hair, with great results.

ETA: I'd stay away from daily products with silicones in them, for now. If you use them, you could be locking moisture out of your hair. I know infusium has silicones in it, not sure about the PCA.

I love your hair! And I as well get so discouraged at times because my hair grows so unevenly and has super short pieces in the middle, but please don't give up. I agree about finding good moisturizers to prevent breakage and dryness....Your hair in your siggy looks beautiful!

I've been rubbing my scalp daily with jojoba oil (sometimes mixed with lavender or rosemary oil), since it doesn't clog the scalp and is believed to contribute to hair growth. I'm hoping to have my hair all around even one day, it's just taking a lot longer than I thought. hang in there, girl!

ITA agree with what everyone's saying. Yeah you need to quit playing. You know your hair is gorgeous. My hair is also does not have super thick strands, but there is alot of density, so it looks super full...oh well. That's hair, it is what it. I do think you need a product change. I used to use infusium too, but it left my hair dry and hard, and I had to cut that off. Also try some products that were made for natural hair. Like Carol's daughter, or miss jessie's or oyin or whatever, eventhough you pay more, it's worth it because it's made with your hair in mind. And you better get on that moisturizing band wagon:band2: we're waiting for you... And if you're sick of your hair twist it up or braids and get it off your mind, so it can make some progress w/out interference. Good luck;), and don't leave like that.:(
