Ladies,

I need your help, I havent logged on to here for months and I have really lost my way.

I have had so many other things going on that I have FORGOTTEN my hair.

Its dry, brittle, and I am losting it. I feel like I need to start again with my haircare but I just dont know how.

I am very discouraged, I really cant let these years of hard work go.
I still have the length ( a few inches from B/S) Buts its condition is TERRIBLE

I am 9 weeks post so I dont expect it to be swinging, but damn. I am not putting another relaxer on without sorting out its condition!

I know I can depend on my LHCF to help me out!!!
:spinning: :spinning: :whyme: :eatme: :hammer:

I say pre-poo w/some oils/honey/and a condtioner.
Shampoo w/ a moisturizing that you know works and always does, after lathering pour ACV rinse over your hair, rinse.
Then DC w/a very moisturizing DC (one that you normally use).
apply your leave-ins and style as usual.

I did this b4, ended up being really busy and hair was the last thing on my list. For a few wks I only had time to shampoo and condition rinse, DC and rollersetting were out of the question, and I would just airdry and go. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought and all I had to do was just go back to my normal routine and my hair bounced right back.

Great advice BeautifulWideEyes!

....but yeah, deep conditioning weekly & a daily application of a leave in has turned my hair around.

Yep, I agree, great advice. But like everyone else has said, start off with a good wash and deep condition. I think that alone will help tremendously.:)

ACV Rinse is Apple cider Vinger 1/4 a cup dilluted w/water 32 oz.(I use distilled water)

I would use the leave-ins I normally use. I myself like Sedal Hydraloe or Humectress w/ a little jojoba oil or whatever oil I feel like using at the time. I also like Neutragena silk Touch leave-in ( haven't used thins in awhile since I ran out, but it works great also)

I would recommend using Hask Placenta Manage Damage Conditioner (I don't really like the shampoo), and a very moisturizing shampoo.

I like you went through a period where I wasn't really doing anything to my hair. The next thing I knew it was in very poor condition. Here is what I did to get my hair back together:

I washed my hair every 3 days with a moisterizing shampoo and a deep conditioning with the above mentioned shampoo.

After I washed my hair I applied a liquid leave in and either a heavy oil or cream moisterizer, braided it into 4 braids and let it airdry.

Every night I would apply cream moisterizer and braid into 4 braids and every morning I applied oil, and put my hair into a bun. (I did not brush it I so the hair still looked wavy from the braids)

If I wanted to where my bun slicked back I would apply the oil at night and the cream moisterizer in the morning.(Didn't do this often thought)

Needless to say I was walking around with some oily hair, which is why I washed my hair twice a week, but after about 3-6 months of this my hair was transformed....I say this because during this time I didn't pay attention to my hair, I made it a point not to. One day I decided to wear my hair flat ironed and I was shocked. It did NOT look like the same hair I had begun with. It was longer and shinier than it had ever been and all my strands were actually smooth and even.

Oh and I only relaxed my hair about every 3-4 months(I didn't even schedule that! lol), because I wanted to wait as long as I possibly could between relaxers.

I agree with the other ladies. Also, did you ever write in a hair journal or type something up about your regimen? That might help to remind you about what worked well on your hair. And while you're pampering it back to health, don't judge the condition of your hair too much based on how it looks now because it usually doesn't look as great once you're a few months post relaxer. HHG!
