Hey all!!!
Whew I can't wait until I get internet in my house! Until then I usually have to wait on posting weeks at a time.
Anyway, this thread is for those who are just starting the long hair journey or for PJ's who can't seem to get it right; for those who have hit a snag (literally and figuratively!) and mostly for those who have made progress but through bad judgement, bad hairstyling or whatever have had to take 4 steps backwards after taking 2 foward:
Its growing! Really! Its growing!
Since starting on LHCF almost 2 years ago, I have been everything I listed above. I've been a PJ although not to the extreme as some here. When I started out it seemed like it would take forever for me to have beautiful hair like the veterans here. By Nov. of last year I hit a major snag with a one-two punch. My hair broke off major bad! Then just recently I took four steps backwards when I damaged my hair with the new flat iron I purchased.
I had to give myself a major trim of about 1 inch. Doesn't seem to be a lot, but for someone who is looking for progress, 1 inch seems more like 5 inches, especially if you just came from chin length.
Well that was a month ago and things are a lot better now. I don't know if God blessed me with a growth spurt, or if its my diet but my hair is actually longer now! Don't know what happened but some how I got most of that 1 inch back and then some! My hair is looking healthier than ever and is in great condition. Unless I do something drastic, I believe I will reach my 2nd goal of shoulder length by Feb. I have to say that I reached my first goal in Sept. instead of Aug. but thats OK!
So please please be encouraged! Don't give up. Anything worth having will take hard work and determination. If anyone else has encouraging words for others please feel free and I'll see you in February when I reach my goal!
