It's amazing how much you don't know...(not so long post)

I have never liked grease but for years this was the only type of moisture my hair got. It would seem like I would have searched for something else seeing how I hated the way grease felt on my hair and skin (especially the back of my neck:perplexed ) but I didn't because grease was all I knew :wallbash:.

NOW, I know what real moisture feels likes! My hair is soft, bouncy, and pliable (thanks to the death of my spritz addition and finding a moisture regimen) and feels completely clean to the touch. I always have liked my hair but know my hair likes me too:) (corny, I know, but true). Although I haven't noticed any changes to way my hair looks I have noticed a difference in the way it feels and I am totally satisfied for now.

Now I know that I don't have to settle for grease laden heavy hair just for it to look healthy. Thank you ladies for all the info:kiss: . (Pics to come- give me another week) Feel free to post any of your own testimonials.

nice post (it's not long, though! :) )

Yep, I used to OD on grease, well. Now I NEVER use it :look:

I have nothing against it, but I just don't have a use for it.

And I know what you mean by "real moisture" and knowing how that feels. It really is totally different than being greased up!

I'm with you both. My hair is moisturized with no grease. It has never felt like this before.

I think Nexxus Humectress, ORS Replenishing, Porosity Control conditioners and Sunsilk Hydra TLC 24/7 creme have contributed the most to this phenomenon.

What do you use for moisture now because I am still searching?

I am using ORS Olive Oil Lotion- it good enough. It was the first thing I bought so when it's gone I'll try something new. I also prepoo now with cheap con and EVOO - I love this step, and I use the ORS replenishing packs (this one isn't new for me but I love it). Oh yeah, I also started using my MNT con as a leave-in, before I would always rinse it out and proceed with grease. I love these little changes. None of these products are my staples, it was just my first batch of trying to treat my hair better. I plan to test many new things but these can be back up because I know they work for me.:) Good luck.

ETA: I also plan to add EVOO to my next relaxer and see how I like that.

Thanx. I stopped using it too! I'm am soooo loving the "real moisture". (It looked long in the typing window:look: ).

Oooh, I totally feel you on the love/hate relationship with grease. How about I would slather vaseline in my hair:eek:. To avoid the greasy feeling I would periodically skip grease altogether and my hair would be a frizzy puffy, albeit airy mess. Now, thanks to this board of miracles I moisturize my hair with water based products, seal with oils and haven't used grease in 6 months.

ITA. I thought you were talking about me . Vaselina and water slick backs are things of the past. Along with grease, ampro (black) gel, and spritz.

I'm having trouble with dry scalp and am wondering if I should try grease again. I'll just get one that stears clear of mineral oil and petroleum. Maybe I should just use jojoba or coconut oil.

I love grease. I won't stop using it. It helps me when breakage.

I loved the way grease made my hair look but I couldn't take the feeling on my hands and skin. It also made my hair really heavy but this is probably because I'm heavy hand with products. I'm glad it works for you and so many others but it day is over in my book. Do you.:)

I'm still working on preventing breakage though, it's still the same. :ohwell:
