In my quest for long hair, I have observed that the only thing that people with long hair all have in common is that they protect their hair by wearing a scarf or some type of head covering at night, or as needed to prevent breakage and over styling. Moisture and protien are good. However the use of products varie too much to be the secrete to long hair. I do not discredit useing good products but I do belive that products are useless with out a good scarf to protect the hair.

Do you agree, if not why?

Common habit, yes but moisture is a big factor..through your observations you noted they used various moisturizers but did you notice MOISTURE is also the common denominator? I think it is, am I on the right track?

Here are my keys to growth and length retention (in order of importance):
  • Healthy diet and exercise
  • Moisture
  • Low Manipulation
  • Protection
If I consistently maintain these 4 things, it doesn't even matter what hair products I use. In fact, I only use inexpensive products...VO5, Motions, Giovanni Direct, Proclaim, etc.

Thanks ladies, I'm taking notes. Does anyone have a different priority list?

For me,

NOT USING A FINE TOOTH COMB for anything....EVERRR :lachen:
moisture
babying ends :spinning:
