Itchy head with shower cap method?

Hello Curlies!

I'm curious if anyone else has used the naptural85 method of preserving your curls overnight. For those that don't know, she basically lightly spritzes her hair with water, puts a shower cap on and sleeps on it (feel free to correct me if I'm missing something in the regi). I've used this a lot in the past and I really do like how my hair turns out in the morning. This is pretty much the only way I can get second day hair.

That being said, my scalp itches like HELL everytime I do this. I feel like the cap is holding in the moisture and creating a breeding ground for itchies. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't think I'm using too much water, but maybe that's the issue. If you have a different method that has similar results, I'd be happy to hear that too.

Gracias!

I don't think its healthy for a scalp to stay moist like that all the time. Even with the greenhouse method to dc i get a lil itchy.

bumping for the op..........................

I've never been able to baggy for more than 2 hours without my scalp itching even after I first wash. What I did try was putting on my satin cap, then a plastic bag and then a scarf. That cut down on some of the moisture on my scalp. My hair was still damp in the morning but not as much.

I get crazy itchy when I used a shower cap over night to DC. I mean unbearably itchy. So now, I just do it for a couple hours instead of overnight.

Ugh, so it's not just me. Sucks because my curls come out soooo nice when I do this but I'm pretty sure it's awful for my scalp. Maybe the pineapple method from now on...
