I've washed 2 days in a row and after hair wash day my scalp itches furiously.

Does anyone know exactly why this is?? I hope it's a good growing thing going on

London, I have the same problem with itching and it is worse when I am wearing braids. I suggest asking your doctor or dermatologist for a product called derma soothe which helps with the itching. I am not sure why it happens but the same happens to me. Occasionally I use a prescription shampoo in order to help with the itching. It is very bothersome

yep.. i would think so.. your hair is not dirty or anything. i hope you're using shampoos and condits that dont irritate your scalp.
maybe its just more of that "follicular" action as curly crly puts it

AmiLlion posted about how she had to stop taking her vits b/c of insane scalp itchies.. maybe that's the problem.

I used L'oreal Elvive shampoo followed by Elasta Creme shampoo and did a quick conditioning with the Elasta DPR-11. I just put some Olive & Clove oil in my hair and nothing on my scalp and left it at that.

Could your scalp be a little dry? Since I've been natural, I've not had to put anything on my scalp, but if I did I would try a little jojoba oil.

Try Nutrogena T-Gel Shampoo, my girlfriend went to a dermatologist this past weekend for the same problem, He told her to use this shampoo.

Miss LondonDiva,

I'm with Tracy here. I wondered whether you used the clove oil regularly because it can irritate your skin, especially your scalp, if you are sensitive.

P.S. Your pics of Jada are always a pleasure to view and her hair is simply gorrrrrrgeous! So glad she let it grow, and grow!

Thanks Ladies for the suggestions. I used the Profective Root Health last night and it's calmed the itchies down to zero. I thinks it's a combo of the massaging the scalp and also that taught feeling your skin can get if it doesn't get moisturised. I live in a hard water area, not that hard that it messes with my hair real bad, but like my skin I need to moisturise it ASAP after a shower, like you should

I just don't like moisturing my scalp when my hair is damp. I prefer for it to be completly dry first.
But all is well there now, thanks

Hey Tracy

I use the Organics by africa's best, it's become a staple in my hair care regimen now. I love the smell and I use it on top of my activator (Curl free curl gold) to get rid of that stiff feeling. When it edges nearer to touch up time, root health on the scalp, hairline and kitchen area and thic on the hair works wonders for me in an easy ponytial. If I'm too tired to do the whole she-bang with activator and profectiv etc, I just towel blot my hair and put this in and go to bed. I get some nice waves in the morning (even though that isn't my aim) and Almond Delight gets the same effect too, so I know it ain't just me. But it's a cheap keeper.
