It Finally Happened - Even to Me!

Most times, people don't say anything about my hair. Today, not one, but two, women mistook my hair for extensions! I just had it in my regular -yawn- ole bun. They were shocked.

I never thought my hair would ever be mistaken for fake. Even my mom (my #1 cheerleader

) commented on much my hair had grown since she last saw it (in May!). I know it's a small thing but it's encouragement to me

... esp. since I thought my hair had stopped growing.

I know you felt great about it. With my new haircut when I showed my FI he asked was it my hair. I said yeah, why would you ask that he was like "it looks so thick and shiny and you bought a wig last week, so I thought you bought a better one".

Your work is paying off. Sometimes it seems like hair is at a standstill to ourselves, but others can notice the difference.

Yep, it totally took me by surprise because I've gotten used to all the beautiful hair I see here, on this Board - and compared to Adrienne, Allandra, Supergirl, Hairlove, Faith, Peachtree, Valleygirl, Boadicea, jrw (the list goes on!), my hair doesn't seem long enough -or look especially spectacular enough- to be considered *fake*, esp. when it's in a bun...and a sloppy one at that!

Who knew that Costco and the grocery store would be such ego-boosting places!

Thanks Adrienne ~ I owe you and Allandra (among the many wise women whose advice has helped me) BIG TIME for sharing knowledge about the baggie trick/phonytail. Your advice shows up in my retained length at each touchup.

...and I can do a bun so well that people -well, ok, 2 people, lol- assumed it was added hair.
