o bad.

Just thinking of all the people who spoke of going on trips and not treating their hair properly after getting into a chlorine (CHEMICAL) pool. Or how about being so lazy that you don't moisturize for two weeks!:perplexed

I've never went that far but knowing what has happened to me in the past from not moisturizing my braids and listening to you all stories, you can't slip up. I guess you have to think of it as seriously as you do personal hygene, like you take a shower, brush teeth etc.

you wouldn't go without doing that so our hair needs the same hygenial (word?) treatment.:yep:

That's true. I've been trying to just think of my hair processes as WAY,WAY necessary so I won't skip them. When you see progress it's so easy to get laxed as though the hair will stay in the great state all by itself.

I totally feel you. I have been slacking on protein lately, and I am paying for it now. My ends :nono: They need some help right now. I did a mild protein two days ago and I need to do another one either today or tomorrow. I might lose an inch due to my laziness.

Oh, and just to note. I was speaking in general when I said, "you."

gymfreak-my hair doesn't seem to need intensive protein treatments. maybe it is because my products contain protein, IDK?

joyful-yeah, it is like that sometimes with weight loss too. LOL:lachen:

you see a lil' progress and then you fall off. I;m like Ashanti, "Gotta stay focused."

Chica ... you ain't nevah lied!! For the past 3 weeks or so, I was trippin' being all lazy and not moisturizing and generally mishandling my hair, and my hair paid dearly for it ... with a serious choppity chop chop.

ITA with the OP. I am learning that I need to be as diligent and conscientious with my hair as I am with washing my face and brushing and flossing my teeth.

This is why I always make sure I have time for my hair. For instance, We just went through a major move (to a different state) and I wanted to make sure my Pibbs arrived for my wash day...LOL. The company that moved our furniture would not have had it there until 2 days later so I wasn't going to let them take it and it was too big for my car and my husband car was also going to be with the movers. So, I mailed my Pibbs ahead to make sure it was there as soon as we arrived at the new house...lol and I carried all of my poos/condishs and rollers..everything with me. When we got to the new house the UPS guy was already en route to deliver my Pibbs. I washed my hair that night...no furniture yet or anything and we ended up staying at a hotel that night for comfort after our long trip until our furniture arrived the next day but I made sure I had my hair done:grin: on the day it was supposed to be done and because I knew that once the furniture arrived I'd be busy with unpacking so I just had to get it done at that time. I'm a fanatic....lol.

I will also wake up extremely early to wash (if I don't feel like washing the night before) so that I don't take time away from my work or family to do my hair. I will get up at 4am sometimes just to get it out of the way for the day and so that I have time if I have meetings for work (I work from my home office but still have meetings and other business related matters outside of the home). I also like to make breakfast for my husband and boys and go over homework, sign papers...drive the boys to school..etc. I can get everything done this way without missing a beat and now I also walk 4 days a week with a walking group. So my time is valuable to me but I won't sacrifice my hair unless it's a life or death matter....
