..now you have got it to full health? I was in extensions for a year which left my hair a bit thinner plus I've had set backs with alopecia and heat damage ect... If you ask me what I am I'd say a thin haired person, but now I think I should wait a year and see because I might move up a notch with a strict regimen:grin:

Has anyone moved from thin to normal or normal to thick?

Definitely! My hair is much fuller than I ever dreamed. Especially since I was natural (albeit with unhealthy hair practices) for so long before I found this board. I thought my hair was as "full" as it was going to get which wasn't full, at all :nono: But that was before I learned everything that I've learned here. Even now, my hair isn't as healthy and full as it's gonna be and it really surprises me sometimes.

As I lurk and learn I find more and more healthy haired fine haired individuals that have my goal length and I know I'll be more than satisfied when I get there.

ETA: I thought I had thin hair, too. But as it turns out, I have fine strands with medium density. My hair actually looks pretty full when straight. The fine strands only stand out when I do my skimpy little twists  But my straight hair, twist outs, braid outs and wash n gos are good :yep:

My hair has gotten thicker (thin to normal I believe) since I've taken the healthier approach to all things hair, mind & body.

I mean I didn't think that I would have any hair or it would grow back in very very thin after 18 yrs of abusing it, pulling it out, keeping it short and over processing. :look: I'm so happy with my hair now.

Here is how i used to wear my hair 2 yrs ago which achieved the look I wanted but in actuality it was over processed and thin.

And here is my hair now:

Absolutely! I knew that I had somewhat thick, but see-through hair when I was natural but now I have THICK hair!

All it took was healthy hair practices and low manipulation (<------ took this low manipulation to a whole new level as I have not combed my hair for 3 weeks.... sigh)

Great inspiration pics Gadgetdiva! Can't believe the difference:eek: Watch this space:grin:

yes, my hair is thicker than i had thought. when i was relaxed, it was thin. even when i went fully natural, it still wasn't as thick as i thought it would be (at least, in the beginning of being natural it was thick, but after last years stress and setbacks my ends suffered giving my whole head a thinner feel). when i would straighten it, it seemed thin, even see-thru. i never had fine hair, and this thinness i knew wasn't normal for me. this last 6 months, my hair has thickened up greatly and i love it.

I noticed the biggest difference when i cut my hair from about apl to shoulder length last spring. (i wan't excited about apl and didnt really claim it because i didn't like how damaged, thin and uneven it looked) i cut it because i wanted healthy looking hair, despite its length, and although it was mostly apl, the last 2 inches or so of the ends were see thru, thin, heat damaged and uneven. when i cut it back, evened it up, avoided heat, moisturized and actually stuck to taking my vitamins EVERY SINGLE DAY, in about 3 months i saw a real difference in the density of my hair. it's not super, super thick, (yet) but its a big difference when curly or straight than where it was just 6 months ago. before i had resigned that it was going to be as thin as it was, but now i am happy to see its is proving me wrong.

I actually dont think its done thickening up. i dont think i'll see its full potential for another year of healthy hair practices because i have some random broken hairs that needs to catch up. it's all growing back even, thick and healthier than it did in the past and i am happy and excited for its future.

My hair isn't really thicker than I thought it would be. I guess I just forgot how thick it is. My family teases me about everything under the sun (and I mean EVERYTHING). My hair was often a target among all the other things. I have fine strands but plenty of them. I was called a lion bc of it's mane-like appearance.

I did everything I could to get it to lay down flat. I relaxed it to death and flat ironed it. If I couldn't run a fine tooth comb through it in one swift swoop, it wasn't flat enough. After I went natural, the mane came back...but I love it and I'm old enough now to realize that jealous immature people make fun of others.

Yes, for sure. When I was relaxed for so many yrs I forgotten how thick my natural hair really was. Then bc'd in Dec 08 and Feb 09 texlaxed bc I could'nt deal with the ssk! But August this yr I went ahead after 6 months of wearing the yarn extensions decided to give my hair a break from them and am glad I did. I decided to cut off the remaining texlax ends to now I am all natural and could not believe how thick my hair actually is. Using the JBCO and my fav con Mane and Tail my hair has done a 90 degree turn around for the better.

The thickness is out of this world. As a child I was told I always had thick hair but did not see it. Now I do and can appreciate what was given to me.

Btw, I forgot to mention that I do believe my hairfinity vitamins have also contributed to my thickness as well! And since I am a diabectic I drink water like a fish too!

I will keep up my healthier hair practices thanks to this forum and the knowledgable ladies here.

I just washed it tonight and con it and decided to blow dry it via the strectch method and when I was done I was pleasantly surprised at the thickness and the volume. I still can't believe it.
