This is ridiculous.

I have gotten to the point where I think about buying hair products more than shopping for clothes and I use to shop for clothes all the time.

Everytime I get on here, I hear some fab review on another product. My hair is stealing my money and I want it back.

Where is all your money going? Are you able to control yourself when it comes to buying hair products/appliances?

i have no control. i'm currently bidding on 15 items on ebay. i've put a request in on the hair exchange board for 8 vo5 conditioners and 4 suave conditioners and i am still contemplating what other products i need to get.
someone pray for me please

@BBarb: Ummmm, heck no! I have zero control. I recently purchased Nacidit Avocado, but I have plans to return to get the WheatGerm & Olive Oil conditioners as well. I'm contemplating getting a few of the rinses too.

And those are just my plans w/the Nacidit product line. If I have a choice btwn going to the mall to buy clothing and heading over to the Dominican BSS.... there's no competition, BSS is winning EVERY TIME & I'm a total clothes horse!!! I have to run out of Sally's and any place that carries Caruso rollers, b/c I know I'm a few moments away from popping them in my little plastic hand basket.

Thank goodness I stopped using heat, b/c I see all sorts of hard dryers and CHI irons I want to try!

You are in my prayers....

I have no control either, this month I have spend like $500. I think that I need help!!!
Because this can not be right. I use to shop more clothes, but now hair products is taking all my money from me.

LOL! I was thinking the SAME thing to myself the other day...its sad Id rather buy hair products than clothes! But just think ladies, no outfit can mask busted hair!
wink.gif
Plus Im trying to lose weight and have way too many clothes(that currently dont fit!) as it is!

The ONLY thing that controls me is to check out the ingredients in stuff people rave about. That helps to confirm what I already know -- I've probably ALREADY got something very similar like it at home, maybe 2 or 3 things like it!. For example, when alter ego was all the rave, I checked it out at the local Ulta store (I couldn't find the ingredients list anywhere online for some reason). Anyway, I realized that it was loaded with 'cones, which accounts for the "silky" feel and the sense that it "mended" split ends. When I saw that, well, duh, I've got about three different serums at home that have the same basic stuff in them sooooo, I passed. DITTO for the NTM silken seal -- 'cone based - I've already got that, etc. etc. Checking out the ingredients really does but the breaks on my PJism.

I must confess though, I went out and bought a bottle of suave milk and honey today to try on my next CO on saturday -- my only defense is that it was .96 cents . . .

I am a PJ out of control just spent $150 dollars the last couple of weeks the only way I can justify is I got most products on sale for 3-5 bucks.
Sickbay.biz is taking more of my money lately I am a sucker for dominican products.

Humph, I already know that I am a hopeless case and I have come to accept and live with that fact.

I have been a confirmed junkie now for many years and CLOTHES shopping NEVER, EVER, took priority over my products.

I go in spurts cheap one month, then spend big bucks on products/appliances. Please talk me out of the steamer I have my heart set on.
smirk.gif
Pretty please don't make me spend all that money on oils!!!!
blush.gif

so far it isn't stealing my money. I have my staples that I buy all the time in my signature. The only thing I have added since joining the group is Surge and i really needed it because I am in cornrows(don't want them stealing my edges LOL). Garnier fructis at Target $2.99 Kids Organics Detangler $3.99 Aussie Mega Conditioner $3.49(I try to buy the ones that give you free Hair Insurance), Surge $3.99 Roots braid spray $2.79 Elasta mango butter $5.99 extra virgin olive oil from the 99 cent store

I am a PJ!! No apologies. I would rather buy products than food. I will try any and everything but now I am also trying to save money. Going thorough these threads I had an entire list of things to try, even though I currently have products that work for me. My excuse was "well, I will be transistioning so I will need new stuff!!" (Good Huh?) But wisdom prevailed. *sigh* I had just relaxed my hair June 6th so what I have will continue to work for a while and perhaps indefinitely, tho I do like to rotate products. I examined what I want to do with my hair and pared my list down to 1/4 of what it was, mostly skin care like the natural oils, soap and shea. So, for the time being my PJism is being restrained, my money will stay in my pockets and I will just go around with an uncured case of product envy.

I think I do pretty well when it comes to hair products...I'm not big on appliances. I consider myself a PJ but I'm sure a lot of you ladies would laugh at my small collection of supplies.
smile.gif

Yes it is. I am a product junkie. I love hair products, tolietries, and cleaning products. I go over board with this products. It's like a mini mart in my apartment. I bought all of the NTM products... I love the smell the most. My products now are Neutrogena Shampoo, Pantane Moisturing Shampoo for Relaxed Hair, Aphogee Treatments, and Motions CRP... these are my absolute favorites.
smile.gif

Well, my hair is not stealing my money....I'm gladly giving my money away in exchange for products!
laugh.gif
I'm a self confessed PJ and I say that proudly. I not only buy products, I buy whole product lines!
lachen70.gif
I don't see this trend stopping anytime soon, so I just give in whenever the urge hits me!! I think clothes and hair products are running neck-in-neck with me.
laugh.gif

The thing to keep in mind too is that most products are cheaper than clothes, so in the long run you are saving money.

I also have a lot of samples so I don't feel too bad about the cost but I still signed up for the PJ challenge.

seriously though a steamer is a good investment. i have one it's really good for doind deep conditioning treatments

Uh..there is a hair steamer??
ooo.gif
I searched the threads and only found "steamer" mentioned once outside this thread. Do you have product info? Not to contribute to my PJism...just to...uh... stay informed, ya know?

My hair isnt stealing my money...I got too many bills to pay...plus Im a college student
wink.gif

When I first joined the board, I found myself spending more money on products than ever before. But none of the stuff other people raved about ever did anything for my hair. So that little wave of spending didn't last very long.

Now my money stays in my pocket. I probably only spend $8.00 a month on hair-related stuff.

I spend more when I have a lot of new growth and I'm desperate to manage it. That's the 2nd month after a touchup.

No....ever since I went natural I try something new only when I run out of something else. Plus, I have to keep my money to pay bills.

I got product envy though...I do get the itch to try new stuff!

I went to the mall the other day and just stared at this outfit I wanted. I was longing to just pick it up and buy it
scratchchin.gif
, but then I was thinking that I still have to go buy another hair dryer so that I can continue to do my hair at home (not to mention I already have a dryer, but I just don't want to use that one).
ohwell.gif
It hurt me sooo much to leave that outfit there.
cry3.gif
I had to take my hair into consideration though. I told the outfit that I might come back for it.
grin.gif

I am a proud PJ!!I just bought some Salerm 21 on eBay, some UBH Moisturizer & I'm about to buy some Deep Brilliance products.

I thought I was the only one who bought more hair products than clothes.
look.gif

well ....maybe ....who wants to know...
sekret.gif

I don't buy THAT much stuff---I just end up spending a lot
wink.gif
too much for a student anyway

last week I just bought "natural emu oil shampoo/cond" although I already have giovanni triple treat and aubrey organics JAY
don't get me started on conditioner
-I try to restrain myself
---I might end up buying the cheaper versions
ie suave awapuhi, suave humectant
well that's some of the times...
then I'll try to get the smaller versions
motions moisture plus cond, porosity control, aphogee
or I go all out--
ie aubrey organics GPB
but especially on vitamins: multi,msm,b-complex,fish oil, and "superfood" herbal supplement:spirulina, chlorella, barley, wheat, alfalfa
---tastes liked vegetables--I am trying to get it down

then there are the leave-ins
-giovanni's ---which I loved but ran out of
-daily doctor--current
-surge--next week

I have mixed all left over conditioners that I liked to use this week.I am not buying anything else for the summer.
That's not a lot for 6 months but cost about $200
come to think of it---the shipping is what's killing me!!!

I went to buy an outfit yesterday and it's like I had to sit there and say do I really want this, when had it been a hair product, there would have been no question whatsoever. I would have been walking out the store bag in tote.
