I wish that I couldn't related to that. I was once told by a stylist to come back to the salon later because she was getting her hair done and she didn't feel like being bothered. I was supposed to be her first client of the day. I can laugh about it now, but at the time, that walk back home in 100 degree heat was not funny.
Another time I sat in a woman's chair and her friend came in, stood by me in the chair and started talking about... I'm not even going to mention it. But the stylist said, "Girl, be quiet, you know my client don't want to hear that mess" and without missing a beat I said, "I sure don't", nose turned up and everything. I don't know why people act like the person whose hair they're styling can't hear them talking either on the phone or with someone else in the salon.
