Okay ladies, my 6 months is almost up and I have 3 inches of new growth. I washed my hair today and this amount of hair came out today (in the siggy). I need your honest opinoin if this is too much hair to come out. Before you start, I haven't comb my hair all week and I did have some knots, but not horrible ones. I never comb my hair except on wash days anyway. My mom says it is time for my relaxer and that is why it is shedding. :perplexed. My hair balls haven't been this big up until now. But I want to know also do some of you who go 6 months or more without a relaxer, if you experince this too?
Thanks ladies.

I'm not relaxed, so maybe some of the relaxed ladies can share with you their experience with shedding. However, I must say that this does look like a lot of hair, even with this being your first time combing it out in a week.

I think you should seriously evaluate your regime, because it appears that your hair is breaking severely rather than simply shedding at a natural rate. Are you conditioning and moisturizing it? Also, how do you style your hair during your stretch?

It's really hard to see the pic for me but I'll give it a shot. That looks like a tad bit much hair for just a week of no combing. Maybe there was something in your technique or products used that caused this much to come out??

It's really so hard to tell because it's balled up. You state you are midback length, so hair that long that is balled up will really look like a lot but may actually not be. Sorry I can't be more helpful...it's so hard for me to tell.:ohwell:

Even though your siggie indicates that you are mbl, it seems like an excessive amount of hair loss to me. How does the amount in the avatar compare to your usual weekly hairloss? Can you give a bit more info about your regimine, etc. Some people tend to lose more hair at different times of the year. Does that happen to you?

Last fall, I experienced some matting & excessive hair loss due to protein overload. Once I got my moisture back, it's been minimal.

It's hard to tell if it's a lot of hair or not, because we can't tell its real size. Was the hair ball as big as a 50¢ piece, a CD, or a dime or a quarter?

Thanks for the replies ladies. My hair is mid back length. here is my reg. I rotate every week. moisture, protein, hot oil treatment. I use all organic products excecpt Ahpogee. I use i.c leave in treatments too.

I deep condition every week. I comb my hair in section and I put direct leave in on my hair to help with tangles and stuff. I use wgo oil on my scalp every now and then, but i have switch to use essintail oils on my scalp (rosemarry, lavender, tea tree, pepermint, jojoba oil, and vit e all mixed togather).

I put my hair up in a bun. The bun is not tight because i dont want to loose my edges or cause breakage.

I use mizani h2o night cream somtime.

the hair ball is about the size of a 50 cent piece. And no I really don't have that much hair come out like that. i has been a while since I did a 6 mnt str. I usually go for 4 mnts. I guess I thought I could go 2 more:perplexed
