Help.

I really want to lift the tips of my hair some. I'd be happy with 1-2 levels of lift so that I have a brown or auburn tinge.

I searched the LHCF archives and bleach was not recommended by many fine type 4's. I'm hoping they meant lifting to the blondes... Are there products out there now which can protect from my 4B tips from drying up and breaking off?

Example (I wouldn't mind slightly darker brown as long as it is noticeable):

What color is your hair? And what color are you trying to go to. You can usually and some nice color without lifting.

Find a good semi-permanent color that has a color you want to try.

My natural hair is darkest brown/soft black and I'd love the colour in the pic. I thought you couldn't go lighter without lift?

I've seen some coloured hair wax reviews on YouTube - I might try some before committing.

Dark black hair can be hard to color. But usually if your hair is more brown, it isn't that hard to color if you are going red, auburn, plum, other shades of brown.

Demi' s and Permanent colors work better.

The only time I've had to lift was when I was going close to blond. But I do know some people do want highlights and so the lift. I would only do that if I was sure.

Lifted color requires a lot of extra hair care.

The wax is a good idea. Try easy things and temporary things until you are sure.
