It says this:

Ions boost steam output by 3X for better holding, longer lasting styles loaded with moisture. Ceramic's gentle far-infrared heat for smooth, high-shine styles without frizz! Can be used with or without steam, with or without ion. 3 Settings: Ion/Steam - Conditiong steam infused with moisturizing ions creates long-lasting styles with great hold. Steam - Moisturizes, protects hair from dryness, reduces frizz. Dry Heat - Straightens quickly and easily for smooth styles. Ceramic conducts heat evenly for superior results. 2 caps - an easy-to-fill water reservoir for continuous steam and a cap for use without steam.

Myl3e, I'm not certain, but I have there Ion blow dryer and I really like it. Hope that helps a bit

You may not need the steam part. I purchased a a ceramic flat iron by Jiberre at Sally's Beauty Supply but I think I paid like $40 for mine. But ceramic irons or anything with ion technology is excellent in my opinion!
