soo theres all this talk about whats the best flat iron (chi? or fhi).. while there are all those other GREAT brands out there... ghd, sedu, h2pro... i mean, they all do their own thing on different heat temperatures.. depending on the look your going for... smoothness?.. i mean, that also plays a part in your product usage...

but what i want to know, is...
is there such thing in having TOO many flat irons?...:yep:

i currently have an H2Pro, which was pretty pricey.. n worked GREAT... then at walmart, i saw a conair one that i use to use back in the day that worked well for only $12.. so i bought it as a my cheap travel iron lol...

but then bought the Pink FHI because it was in a holiday sale package along with a brush, clips, and some hot sauce... for $75 bucks.... so i bought that... (thats three...)... n while im here in Spain, i forgot my cheap one, so i bought one (a rather cheap one) which makes it 4....:perplexed

n because i didnt like the cheap one much, i borrowed a friends.. which is a remington (european outlet)... but works WONDERFULLY on my hair.. makes it soft, smooth, and silky.. n she wants to sell it to me for $20 where as she paid $60 for it.... n im so close to takn her up on her offer... but the question is............

do i really need it!?!? i know the answer is no. but it works so beautifully. its nice to have backups lol.:drunk:

how many flat irons do the ladies of LHCF own?!?
and with honest opinions.... do you guys think im doing too much? lol.. wasting my money huh? :ohwell:

lol i dont know.

:grin::grin:happy hair growing ladies!!:grin::grin:

I have about 5 and they're taking up too much space in my bathroom cabinet, that with my combs and blow dryer, its getting to be too much, lol

I have 4 and ain't bit mo' sorry! My only problem is that the temptation to use them is getting to be a bit much. I'm trying to stay away from heat (see siggy) but having a bunch of flat irons is like a recovering alcoholic still having a liquor cabinet.

I started out with a Jilbere 1" ceramic flat iron ($35 from Sally BSS).

Then I purchased a Ion anti-frizz ceramic straightening flat iron 1.5" ($80 bucks from Sally BSS) and gave my Jilbere to my niece.

Then I purchased a Sedu 1.5" ($99.95 from Folica.Com), and I kept my Ion. The reason why I kept my Ion one is because I paid $80 for it.

I can't see me having more than two flat irons.

My first one was a Caruso, very cheap 20$, worked wonderfully but did not last long. Then I bought an Conair Infiniti, too expensive 80$, pure crap, ripped my hair like no body's else business, I don't use it anymore. Then I bought a SEDU 130$, a pure miracle, I am in love, my hair is so silky with just one pass, so I am fine no more flat irons unless the SEDU cheats on me :)

If I had the money, I'd have about 15 flatirons. Shoot, probably more than that!

For now I have one, a FHI, and am hoping for a Solia or Sedu for Christmas

5 or 6 not including curling irons. Now that I have my US version GHD (I have a UK but need an adapter) I put all the others DOWN. I will be a GHD gal fo life.

:yep: I have 5, myself. Not mad about it at all.

I only use my H2Pro right now, but I have one other that I got for a good deal (back-up). I have a Pink Solia, I have a FHI, and I have a Maxiglide XP. I love my H2Pro.

Not sure what I will do with the others, but I am not mad at all. I am hoarding my flat-iron.

I have 3, (HAI, Sedu, and Maxiglide). My friend has had my HAI for like 2 years now though.

I'm personally satisfied with what I have, and wouldn't buy anymore. If I did, I would sell one of the other ones.

Jilbere, PHI, Pro-Select (a very excellent one btw), Revlon 2 in, Conair 2 in, Conair wave iron, (Conair irons are crap!!!), Wigo and had another from Ulta that I returned because it burned my hair. There are 3 ladies in my household. I'm in love with the PHI and Pro-Select professional irons but I want to try the Maxiglide because of the steam. Incidentally, my hair never could take much heat. That's why I stopped using curling irons (we've got like 4) and moved to flatirons to see if I could get silkier hair. Recently learned not to put oil in the hair, just serum and silk product before the blowdry.

I don't own a flat iron...I had a FHI back in the day but the converter in Spain fried it

I do plan on getting one this summer to flat iron my hair. It will be the first time I am flat ironing in 3 years.

I have two blow dryers though...

Yall are all some junkies! 6 flat irons! I have my maziglide and a cheapie vidal. I use the only the maxiglide on my natural hair and the cheap one on my wigs

If you're really into hair care, like we are, then there is no such thing as too many any kind of hair care appliance:spinning:...I have 3 flat irons and 5 hot combs.

My goodness! This thread is enlightening! lol

I own one BIOSILK 1" flat iron. I only bought it because my old one broke (cheap Wal-Mart ceramic flat iron). I went for three months in between that without one at all. If I got another one, it would be a cheap two inch one, but I don't see that happening! I'm ga-ga for rollersets.

Okay...I'm going to bump this up because I have a question- hope no one gets mad, but why pay so much for a flat iron and/ or have so many if too much direct heat is damaging?

ETA: For clarification, how often are you ladies with 2 or more irons using them? Thanks.

Mscocoface stepping up to the mic (tapping, is thing on...okay)

Now back in the day when I was a press and curl girl I created an arsenal of hair utensils so I will just say I have more than 4 but I might also add that I not only was doing my hair I was doing 3-4 other peoples heads of hair.

I literally have a makeshift beauty salon when I need it, up to and including the Pibbs 514. The only thing I am missing is the sink and a "specific" chair. No joke, I have everything else right down to the hair towels.

So umm yea, I have a lot of flat irons, but they were purely for almost professional reasons. Honest! :perplexed

Heat is not damaging. It's the inexperienced person using the heat appliance on your hair that is "damaging". And its the individual who does not use healthy hair care practices that is "damaging".

I lurve my hair just as much as the next LHCFer but Im just not into the direct heat. I dont even own a blow dryer :ohwell:. Ive straighted my hair once with the maxiglide since I got it this summer.

I hear ya chica...but there is a big difference between "using direct heat" and "abusing direct heat."

I had Superstar and gave it away because a friend asked me for it. Then I bought Maxi and Miniglide, Chi and recently Karmin Titanium Hair Straightener. I won't be purchasing any more tools even though I am tempter to purchase a T3 blowdryer. I promise not to.

I thought i was bad with just two. but i don't got nothin on half y'all(with 5 and 6). but i do want another one, and i would probably give one away. is it necessary? No, but do I care? no! Cuz i'm a product junkie and anything hair related, and that is within my budget at the time=mine now!!!

i spend a lot on my irons because the ones that tend to have what im looking for are the more pricey ones.. they take good care of my hair.. protect my hair.. dont break my hair.. and leave it feeling like silk. if you do not prepare your hair fo the heat.. than you do not need to be owning these types of irons.. if u do not know how to use them, u do not need to be owning them. i only flat iron once a week AT MOST... sometimes only twice a month.. maybe even less.. depending on how im feeln, how often i wash my hair, and what styles i wana wear. i take good care of my hair, and use loads a heat.. heat is my friend. and is not that damaging if used correctly. im sorry if im repeating myself.. but ive retained much length while still using heat, i just rotate my tools...

hth
...xoxo
happy hair growing!!
