Is there a way to air dry your hair to look straight?

Has anyone been able to achieve this some way, somehow? It would be a great alternative to wrap setting or having to use a flat iron. Thanks.

when i was relaxed if i washed and pulled it back and twisted it into a bun and tied it down over nite it would get pretty straight

I do this from time to time also. But I'm trying to achieve a straight look when it's air dried straight down...if that's possible.

I used to do wet wraps when relaxed and hair dried it while it was tied up. Once I let it loose, my hair fell straight w/body. Mind you that my hair was almost relaxed bone straight, but it was very healthy :yep:....I miss it:rolleyes:

Sorry, I should've added that I do a dry wrap right after and tie it in place with my silk scarf. This usuallly staightens it with a slight bend on the ends when I comb it out.

I would co-wash with some Creme of Nature with a thin toothed comb downward in the shower. Apply any oils or leave ins then tightly put a scarf on (hair still combed down all over). My ends used to curl up like crazy and my friends would call them wings. You could pincurl the ends I suppose.

depending on how short your hair is, since mine is neck length, I would, especially back in the day, I would poo n co, add whatever product I wanted(lightly), comb it back, fold and tie on my bandana overnight (w/ the wide part of the bandana on my nape and the 3 corners wrap'd around and tied in the front. This is my 'best way' to keep any scarf on my head and in place overnight.

Oh wow this is my 1,000th post!

This is exactly what I do. I dont know . I woulndt be able to air dry my hair loose, straight down and have it come out straight. It would be a poofy mess.

I'm able to airdry now because I have no new growth. After I wash, I'll put my hair in a braided ponytail. However, airdrying does not work when I am 10 weeks post. My roots are usually hard, puffy and crunchy in the crown area and it's difficult to straighten w/o heat.
