Is there a such thing as natural/kinky/curly braiding hair?

Is there a such thing as natural looking braiding hair? I'd love a texture like this:

but I'm not very into weaves. Does anyone know where I can find hair like this that is not wefted? Or is it too tangly for braiding?

If you like that particular texture you can buy it and cut off the weft. That's what I did with the braids I have in now. The vendor screwed up my order and I didn't have time for them to fix their mistake so I made it work.

I personally think it'd be too tangly. Put another way, I can't see myself putting in the effort to detangle hair that isn't mine, which you'd have to do if you had to work with this.

What makes extension hair work for me is it's ability to keep my strands apart so that they do not mat. That's why undoing with fingers is easy. I have tried to braid my hair w/o extension hair and I couldn't leave it in as long as I leave in extension braids. My hair texture next to itself just mats and locs way too easily, especially with the frequent washes. I don't have this problem with twists, but definitely with braids. So if I'm going to add hair, I'd make sure it's not hair that is going to form a bond with my own and loc.
