Already sold my Sabino. Didn't love it or maybe I didn't know how to use it.

Does anyone swear by a no frizz serum that I can pick up locally?

Man I wish I knew the answer......went to school today with bangin' hair, arrived at school like I just woke up from school.

You sold your sabino??!!! Wow I love mine, gets my hair straight as a pin even after I try to roll it up. Are you natural or relaxed? That might make a difference.

But back to your OP can't really help you there. Have you tried John Freida frizz ease (never tried it myself) but it could help.

Are you talking about me? if you are, I never had a sabino anything:ohwell:. IDK im confused.

Yep, I sold it. I don't think I really knew how to use it or I used it once and didn't like the slightly greasy feeling it left. IDK. I'm convinced that I need to hold onto products and learn how to use them before giving them away.

I also didn't like that Sabino didn't allow moisture into the hair.

No, I was talking to the OP :perplexed

I liked it when I used it. I don't use a lot and I follow the directions to the letter. Different stokes for different folks though. I dunno what to tell you, I use a creamy leave-in and tie down with a scarf.

I also like Rusk thermal serum. you might want to give that a try. Once I ran out of my sabino and I needed something because I was straightening my hair for cutting purposes as I'm a natural and feel it's better to do it while it's straight. Anyways my hair looked so shiny, and straight, and silky. So I think it could help with the frizz thing if you can find it. Oh and it's alcohol free and has a heat protectant in it.

I'm natural. I think I tried John Freida awhile ago. I didn't know what I was doing then. So, I threw the product out. I'm never throwing anything away again!

i would also love to know alternatives too. is gvp silk infusion still a contender?

Hmmm...never heard of gvp silk infusion.

I use the CHI silk infusium itself and I like it. I don't usually have much issues with frizz.

I LOVE Chi, but is that a frizz buster?

Maybe I can get Rusk from a local BSS. Is it a fruzz buster and heat protectant? The "thermal serum" title sounds like a heat protectant.
How's BKT working for you?

I haven't BKT'd again (as you know I only did my bangs). I'm letting it wear off. IDK if I'll do it again. I may or may not armed with the info that others like Naturaltobe has suggested.

As for Rusk: It's not a frizz buster so to speak. But I believe it helps with frizz as my hair was smooth, silky, shiny w/o reversion. I usually have frizz issues too and I had none after using it. I was peasantly surprised, so i think it could work pretty good for you. I think you could get it from a local store.

Yodie... I still think that it is technique over many of the products... I found that Sabino HEATED my hair much hotter than I was comfortable with. So - I only use it sparingly... or on wet hair.... and when I am not plannig to use heat. I think it caused more problems that solutions....

Anyway, I have to say that the best frizz buster is a steam treatment. It seems that the infusion of steam helps to keep moisture in, and helps to keep moisture out.... the hair is hydrated. I use Turn Up the Heat ( available at sally's) and spray - then blow dry.... Flat iron - and that seems to work pretty well. I think Sabino over heats hair.... and I am ok with poof - over hair coming out in my comb becuase I fried it.

Thanks, Lucky's Mom. I'll try my steamer tomorrow. Sometimes I can't stand the dripping conditioner and heat, BUT my hair is worth it. I'll check out "Turn Up the Heat." Sounds like a heat protector. I'm still trying to decide whether Chi Silk Infusion is a heat protector. I don't know.

Do you use the blow dryer comb attachment or another method to dry your hair?

Thanks again for these tips.

Yes I do. I dunno if you saw my "etae review" post... but there are pics there. However I just bought a new FHI blow dryer - and I may use a brush - not a denman - but a paddle...

check this out...........

I'll look for that post. Thanks.
My hair is shorter now, so the paddle probably wouldn't have much to hold onto. Lol!!

Thanks again. You know I'm off to Sally's tomorrow.

Thanks, LM.

Your hair looks great in the etae thread. It always does.
I caught your hair wax post in the other thread. Uh-huh..I'm on that one too! I need something for my edges. Do you use Beyond the Zone wax?

Night ladies.

This is exactly why I sold mine too. I didn't like that dry feeling. It does what it says.... blocks out moisture.

When I go to the salon all they use to control frizz is www.moroccanoil.com as the leave-in. My hair lasts for 2 weeks and the curls return as soon as alot of water hits them. I saw this product in my local BSS too.

Ooh, dang! You're gonna have me salivating over moroccan oil again. I still have a small sample here. I'm gonna try this today in lieu of coconut oil. I can't say that moroccan oil does a thing for my hair, but I love the smell.

Yodie: Have you thought about IC Fantasia Frizz Buster?

I used it heavily this Summer and it was a great 'inexpensive' products. I liked it so much I repurchased it again.

Which is saying a lot for me, 'cause I'll drop a product and KIM:look:...

This Product worked really great to control Frizz and I was 10+ Weeks Post.

Just picked up IC Fantasia Frizz Buster from Sally's. Thanks for suggesting it. The rep said that Turn Up the Heat (Thanks LM) and IC's Frizz Buster sold better than the other products in their category. Great recommendations ladies.

I picked up Beyond the Zone's wax stick. Someone posted about it in another thread. Wanted to try it to lay down my sides. We'll see.

Wish me luck.

Wash, Condition and Blowdry are done. This has to be the BEST Wash, Con and Blowdry experience that I have ever experienced on my hair. Okay, maybe I can't remember a great one from years ago.

COULD THIS BE THE MAKING OF A REGIMEN FOR ME? WHAT!!

1. Washed with Wen (adding in moisture because of my henna treatments).
2. Con'd with Sebastian 2+1.
3. Steamed for 15 mins. Usually steam for only 6 mins because my ears burn. Wrapped with a
scarf and got the full 15 mins.
4. Did final rinse with Porosity Control. Rinsed with cold water.

My hair felt good after that, but that was sorta normal. Steam felt great. Thanks again, LM.

I applied Fantasia IC Frizz Buster. IMMEDIATELY my hair felt softer and straighter. I know it's probably filled with cones, but these cones are treating me well today. Spritzed with Turn Up The Heat and I was able to blow dry my hair using the tension method.

My hair turned out better today than it normally does with the comb attachment. YAY!
Thank you ladies. It feels all soft and supple.

I picked up a stove from Sally's last week, so now I'm gonna press and curl it. Now I actually prefer the electric stove over the real stove.

Side notes:
Fantasia IC Frizz Buster will be in my regimen for a long time. WEN, steam and this product would actually let me air dry with some nice krinkle/curl. I also think Henna is loosening my curl. I am beyond thrilled.

Beyond the Zone has alot of cool products. I purchased their wax stick. I'll see how that works. I plan to experiment with some of their molding wax, etc. Now that I'm wig/weave free and I have this cute cut, it's time to get a lil' edgy.

THANKS LADIES!!
